Product Description

When is Jake going to bring round his mysterious girlfriend?

Why is Karen suddenly so obsessed with ‘browsing’?

…and just what is Ben up to with the washing machine?

These are just some of the tricky questions facing Pete and Sue in the fourth series of hit comedy Outnumbered.

A year is a long time in the Brockman household. But older doesn’t necessarily mean wiser as the family negotiate a host of new challenges.

In this brand new series, Jake wrangles with Mum and Dad about the source of his cash flow; Ben baffles his secondary school classmates, and teachers, with perplexing particle physics theories and Karen has joined a coven of fashion obsessed 9 year-old girls. While shopping may now be a vital pursuit, her grasp of logic and reason remain as finely honed as ever. Charity workers beware…

Meanwhile, Pete and Sue have concerns of their own; next door’s Labrador for one and Auntie Angela is back from the states, but where’s her husband, Brick?

At last a new series of Outnumbered, the semi-improvisational sitcom. This time around we find out such things as what it is to have to be Ben's teacher, along with why you shouldn't compete with your dad with video games. Jake has got himself a girlfriend, much to his mother's shock, especially when she finds out what she does, and also he is a band member. With auntie Angela fleeing her husband with her step-daughter in tow, you know that things aren't going smoothly.

As always this programme never disappoints, and there is plenty here to keep you laughing away. Of course as with most people, it is the little girl, Karen that entertains the most, and in one episode you have to wonder what Karen will be when she grows up. She has her own opinions of what she wants to be, but the way she questions a lawyer, you have to wonder whether she should go in to the profession.

Although not out on DVD, have been watching this series on TV - and it has outdone itself! I really thought with the kids getting older the ad-libs wouldnt be as good and was generally expecting this series to be good, but not as good as previous series. Instead i have been completely blown away. This is the best series yet. As just a couple of examples, the various greetings that Auntie Angela receives from the family members was hilarious, and Ben with his hideous dummy was perfect. In fact we watched it again, and it was even better, a very subtle performance underpinning the outwardly boisterous and outrageous antics. Just watch the dummies eyes............. And you have to feel for poor Misty who has never seen anyone quite like Ben. As for Jakes girlfriend, well the various discussions about her between mum and dad, (particularly about dad grinning), were spot on. Karen is just brilliant as always, and i dearly love her no nonsense approach to handling cold callers. In fact every actor puts in an outstanding performance and the scripts are genius. Definitely watch this is you have or are contemplating having children, or just want to laugh at all parents everywhere! All in all, bliss - i just wish it could be longer.

This series matures but does not lose its humour or bite. So often series pass their sell-by date and ought to be dropped but having watched all the programmes in the 4 series we look forward even to more as the family grows up.

We should warn customers that they need a copious supply of handkerchiefs as we laugh so much - and that is pretty unusual!

We would also like to express appreciation for the conduct of Amazon. Our ordered copy was "lost" and Amazon acted honourably and quickly to ensure we received our order.

The child actors in this series are truly remarkable. I love their ad-libbing. I hope they continue to make this series for years to come.

Even though the children are getting older in this series it still holds all the charm that the previous series have held. True to real life humour where I can imagine any parent can see something of the children's characters in their own children. Well worth watching and because it is in bite sized episodes can be watched as and when there is a bit of spare time available.

The Outnumbered series are funny, witty, clever and show what our emotions really tell us in family life although we often act it out in more conforming ways to cultural norms. Series 4 is as good as the others with the children growing up so having new escapades into boyfriend/girlfriend and family tensions. Every family we've introduced it to have become avid enthusiasts.
