A safe cracker gets shot in the head trying to escape from a botched job and when vinegar and brown paper, administered by the local alco~doc don't seem to make him any better, his henchmen decide to go straight to the top, by forcing the local mad scientist to work his marvels of modern science on their injured pal. The crazed professor reluctantly agrees to perform a brain transplant when the hoods threaten his family (as you do..), however rather unwisely, when deciding on a suitable subject, the criminals opt for the brain of a rival gang boss called 'The Sadist', who as you can imagine, is maybe not the most sensible choice when choosing a reliable brain donor, leading to much madness and mayhem...
A suitably bonkers offering from Paul Naschy, with lots of silly violence, and women who seem to have an aversion to bras. The overall style you get from the characters, fashions and plot in this, is that it has all the panache of a rather grotty, northern mill town working mens club, circa 1972, that's been somehow dragged back through a time portal, found in the rear of a backstreet Help The Aged charity shop in Keighley! Needless to say, I thought it was pretty good!! At one point, after the transplant Naschy says to his squeeze "Leave me alone, my brain is torturing me. I can't seem to control it. Go now, It's stronger than I am." ~ which to be honest is the kind of statement I think we can all sympathise with, especially on a Sunday morning! In fact, that's not the only piece of terrific dialogue, as this movie has an abundance of it, with lines like "Listen to me slut, if you don't talk and good, we'll turn your body into a colander and then no one will go for you!" spoken by one female character to another, after burning her with a cigarette!

The two stars are compared to other such fare. The previous reviewer has written a good description so I won't go into that. The idea of a transplant is of course chuckle-inducingly daft! Sadly the filmmakers don't milk this, or much of any other idea either. At a relatively short running time, it feels l o n g. A lot of talking. When there is action it's dull. Did I mention the talking?
And despite the subject matter, it comes across as almost family friendly. If you want to bore them that is. Did Arrow get the most censored version?
Only for Naschy completists. And beware; he's in it for less than thirty minutes. I have to respectfully disagree with the previous reviewer. I don't think this is a good companion piece for anything. And not really worth a watch, since there are so many more fun films to enjoy. You've been warned. Cheers

This film is a must if (like me!) you enjoy truly awful day for night photography that's so bad you lose track of what time of day/night we're meant to be watching! The film itself is average Eurotrash complete with some hideous hairdos and that's just the men.A complete lack of pace eventually kills it.Watch out for a bizarre dance scene that makes no sense at all.

Hilariously bad, at least for the first 15 minutes. Dreadful acting, abysmal dubbing, a budget of maybe 10p. There are no redeeming features at all.
