This is the first time Chained Heat has been made available on DVD in a version that is worth watching and is totally uncut, so that reason alone should convince you to buy this, if your a fan of women in prison flicks then you'll enjoy this. The other two films were kind of lame and not really worth watching a second time, however Jungle Warriors did have a couple of decent scenes in them but was still a bore. Chained Heat stars Linda Blair (The Exorcist) as a woman sentenced to federal prison after accidentally killing a man with her car. She has to deal with dean Wormer himself -- John Vernon, and two rival gangs fighting a race war. Can she survive her remaining days in the sleazy slammer. Also starring the sizzling Sybil Danning. Chained Heat has been newly re-mastered in anamorphic widescreen and presented totally uncut for the first time. This is one of the best of the women-in-prison (WIP) films I've ever seen. John Vernon is the warden, and his office looks like something you might find at the Playboy mansion, with shag carpeting, a Jacuzzi, an exotic fish tank, a fully stocked bar and mood lighting. Henry Silva, the guy I most like see get it no matter what movie he is in, is the big boss. Like all WIP flicks you also have lots of nudity, drug use, prostitution, violence, murder, rape, knife fights, shankings, more rape, racism, corruption, tranny abuse and more rape. It all ends when the blacks and whites quit fighting each other, and join together to defeat Danning and her henchwomen, it also has a great riot scene and tons of violence, classic 80's exploitation.

Chained Heat is the stand-out film in this set and is uncut. Unfortunately Red Heat and Jungle Warriors are both cut - it's only noticeable in one scene in Red Heat, but it's easy to spot numerous moments of violence that have been neutered in Jungle Warriors, which is unfortunate. That said, Red Heat is a surprisingly good movie, albeit far darker in tone to Chained Heat which is gleeful in its sordid ways. Jungle Warriors is campy fun, but is tame by comparison to the other two. Despite some cuts to Red Heat and Jungle Warriors (which are pretty much impossible to find uncensored in good quality widescreen), this is a good purchase for fans of women in prison exploitation flicks (although Jungle Warriors isn't really a WIP movie). Certainly not for everyone, but if you dig the sleazier corners of cinema you'll be well served here.
