A genuinely funny, surprisingly accessible series considering the never-ending sarcasm and bile on his Twitter (@DaftLimmy). Under all of that he seems like a well meaning and hard working man, and the DVD is well worth getting. The series was the funniest thing to be on TV in the last few years, if you don't count the third series of Little Britain.

And I'm not counting the third season of Little Britain, because it wasn't funny. ARF.

Top notch Scottish comedy. If you need jokes spelled out for you or you like traditional jokey shows, this may initially take a little time to digest. Even then, there is enough material on here that anyone would 'get' and the obscure sketches just make me laugh purely for the fact that some of it is so ludicrous you can't help but find it enjoyable.

For the price you should just buy it and personally I can't wait for Season 2 to come out which is outstanding! Limmy is seriously funny.

of course comedy is subjective and personal, but after seeing a sketch of his online, finding another couple then just having to buy this DVD, I've been blown away by Limmy.
He manages to convey thoughts and events that you thought only you had, then realise that you're not alone, and done in such a way that you have to burst out laughing! I've properly laughed out loud at this DVD and have hunte down more. Sureal sometimes, bold, and above all, bloody genius!

Gwan Limmy!

A chance viewing of Limmy's Show on Iplayer changed my life.
Don't know what made me check the description, I mean it sounds like a kids show about a sheep.
But I did. And I am so glad that I did.
I'd got a bit sick of the formulaic sketch shows being shown over the last 10 years or so. The Fast Show made it acceptible to have variations on a theme each week and allthough brilliant, it's shadow fell hard on british comedy making it predictable and boring. This is not that. This is something else. Brian Limmond can pull comedy out of thin air. Very inventive, very funny. Although on a budget, Limmy has created a truly original and hilarious comedy that really raises the standard. A lot of the time you don't even know why you're laughing. A fantastic comic actor too. I do genuinely think this guy is a genius. How he knows it will work when writing this stuff is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bizzare crazy stuff there are plenty of laughs and observational stuff too. But you gae a lot mer, wi this guy.
From wan chance viewing I hae been introduced to other excellent Scottish comedy.
The wonderful Burnistoun Series 1 [DVD- now to be given an airing on BBC2! YASSSS!
And Gary Tank Commander [DVD, which it awright n'aw.
Coupled wi DaftLimmy on Twitter ets pretty much tain over ma life, like that. Ooosh.

More good laughs from Limmy. His humour is probably only to be fully appreciated by Scots with their own particular sense of humour but no harm in others having a look and checking it out. First class Scottish comedy at a great price on DVD if you did not catch the series on BBC Scotland.

Limmy is without doubt one of the most talented comedians working in the UK today, if you hate the likes of Micheal McIntrye, My Family but love Chris Morris or Black Books then this is a comedy DVD for you. Only shown on BBC Scotland which I can only think is because the Beeb are worried about the thick Glaswegian accents, all I can say is if they do show the next series across the whole British Isles, then it won't be long before Limmy overtakes the likes of Simon Pegg, Chris Morris as our number 1 comedy writer.

I can't remember laughing so much at a sketch show since watching Monty Python, so many of the skits leave you with that special feeling that good dark comedy does, its so wrong but I'm still laughing my hole off regardless. There is strong social commentary running through the show to look at 'the Americanisms' or the song/dance 'work it', also the portrayal of the antisocial element of Glasgow through 'John Paul' or 'gies yer laptop' are dark, very funny and make you think. I for one can't wait for Limmy's next series and the subsequent films he will not doubt go on to make.

Even though most of the show itself is on Youtube, I would still really recommend getting the DVD.

The show is fantastic but the video commentaries for each episode are also very funny and interesting - even if (or maybe because?) they make Limmy seem even more unhinged
