Wasn't sure about this film read some reviews on here saying it was good; So gave it a go. I'm sorry I just couldn't like it that much. It was too incohearent; the story flashes too much between present and future and it doesnt do it well. it feels like a total random rant with a feeling and meaning but ruined by its own self indulgent trash. the camera work is shakey (never been a fan of that documentary style filming) though the story would have been a good subject for a film; but it lacks that power to shock and make people think. It doesnt have it. So is the film total rubbish? The jury still out. I suppose at best it's watchable. The acting isn't bad. the direction is rather amatuerish.
so the director kind of missed out on making a good point on a disillusioned Amercia. Because that is a subject that has so much truth. The current society in American and here in the UK is of disillusioned. though this film will probably be for more the youtube generation. Where great cinematography doesnt really matter (note i don't mean that the youtube generation only watch rubbish movies) but this isnt your thinking mans movie. More a passing thought and then quickly forgotten.
Though i will know that a few or most will probably disagree with me on this. And this is the beauty of it all. It's about our own perception. I saw what the director was attending to do. I didnt miss anything. Just don't think the film grew into its true potential. maybe that's to do with the budget? But saying that theirs been a few really good and powerful british films which i bet where on a lower budget than this film. So budget isnt really a good excuse.
So in closing. Is worth watching but it wont blow you away. Or make people stand up and think.
but check it for yourself.

I sit here in shock, trying to come to terms with the fact that I've discovered a Uwe Boll film that is actually watchable - even, gulp, pretty good. I know, I know. I can't believe I'm saying it, either. What is the world coming to when I could actually enjoy a movie written, directed, and produced by Uwe Boll? Make no mistake, though - this guy is still the worst filmmaker alive today. I guess even a three-legged albino, mange-ridden mutt can get lucky once in his life. This is still the German director who dares his most vocal critics to duke it out with him inside a boxing ring, the same man who gave the world such films as House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark. In case you're wondering, Rampage is not just some clone of Falling Down. What distinguishes Rampage is its implicit amorality.

Bill Richardson is a 23-year-old loser apparently determined to mooch off of his parents for as long as possible. His parents are actually encouraging him to leave and start a life of his own, while his only friend is one of those annoying liberals constantly spouting off about how awful the world is. Whereas his buddy is all talk and no action, Bill is the opposite. Haunted by a stream of constantly rotating bad news headlines and an inability to get a properly-made cup of coffee, Bill decides the overpopulated world could use a lot less people. Thus comes the rampage, wherein Bill dons his very own Kevlar combat suit, loads up with automatic weapons and explosives, and sets out to kill as many people as possible, completely taking the "Tender" out of his home town of Tenderville. Naturally, I expected a boring and mundane ending that would leave young Bill lying in a pool of his own blood. That's not how the story ends at all.

As other reviewers have noted director Uwe Boll has a history of making quite poor films (even though he is thrown a healthy budget by studios and financial backers).

This is perhaps his finest film, not that it is perfect, but it it is at least well made and does offer some social comment on modern day living, for anyone who is disaffected through the mundane and repetitive nature of living in modern society.

Whilst comparisons could be drawn between this and the Joel Shcumacher film Falling Down (both lead actors Michael Douglas and Brendan Fletcher go on a rampage, after feeling frustrated with modern life), this film has a much harder edge, in that it is very, very violent, and almost revels in the execution scenes, some would say in a gratuitous manner.

However, despite being quite disturbing at times, it does have some merit, it's well acted, well filmed, and as others have stated does have a very neat ending, though not really a twist, it does show the lead characters motivation, and quite how cold and calculating he is.

Brendan Fletcher is as perfect as a lead actor can be, both chilling, charming and believable at the same time, and that almost categorises the whole film, it's chilling, but not unbelievable.

It is essentially a youth getting some guns and going on a killing spree in a small town.

There are some changes in it's style in that between the realism and grit of the story, there are a few too many scenes that are filmed like a blockbuster movie, one example being a stylish slow motion stunt involving a police car exploding and flipping over, that seems like it should be in a big budget summer blockbuster, not a small film about a crazy guy (is he?
