Absolute classic movie, very funny, very violent, full of energy from start to finish, this is one movie that will never be forgotten in a hurry, great original story and concept about a man who has been injected with a poison and is slowly dying but finds enough energy to keep going until he kills those responsible! An adrenalin fuelled movie full of fights and car crashes and shoot outs and total mayhem throughout, highly entertaining, very funny in most places too, a fantastic cast carries it off, Jason Statham is the ultimate hard man action star, Amy Smart is his dim sexy girlfriend, this is a must for all out fun and thrills!

This review is for the German Extended Uncut Blu-ray release with the red sleeve cover.
Great picture quality in HD, all in full English language.
This Blu-ray is extended by around 10 more minutes than the UK DVD.
Region FREE disc.

Its the uncut version which is even better. We all know about the movie but what you need to know is the picture quality right! After watching it I can fairly say it looks really good. You should be well happy with it. It sound great too with 5.1 DTS HD sound. I can recommend this movie on blu ray to anyone. Just get it. Great seller. Fast delivery. Great. Thank You.

I feel I need to write a positive review looking at the list of abuse this has been subjected to!

I can't understand how so many people hated this film. Yeah, it's daft, but come on, how many action films don't have a credibility stretching premise? (Face Off, The Rock, Gone in 60 Seconds, all of the Mission Impossible films etc).

I sat and watched this with my partner last night and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It pretty much runs in real time, and doesn't let up from start to finish. Jason Statham does exactly what you want (and expect) of him, with his perpetual scowl and well delivered one liners. There was a nice thread of humour throughout, and some fun characters (the dead-pan doctor was a nice touch).

Lighten up people, and get a sense of humour.

Love it - this film is ridiculous, stupid, violent, funny, outrageous and NOT to be taken seriously. For many people this will come across as a terrible film because of all those things but it shouldn't be taken too seriously. It's just lighthearted turn-your-brain-off mayhem at a very fast pace with a hectic edit and great soundtrack stuffed full of fights, car chases and general agro from Jason Statham.

If you're expecting more than that or looking for a serious or believable film then don't waste your time or money - you'll hate it!

My friend is a big Jason Statham fan. I said to her, ‘You must have LOVED ‘Crank’ then?’ to which she said that – actually – she hated it. Her reason was that it was too ‘unrealistic.’

So, perhaps straight off, I should warn people that if they’re expecting something majorly true to life and realistic then they better move on. Crank is 100% not realistic. There have been numerous parallels to video games (mainly the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ franchise) in as much as it’s stupidly over-the-top, but knowingly so – so that’s okay (in my book, anyway).

Jason ‘The Stath’ Statham, plays a hitman with a name that I can never remember how to spell and, one sunny morning in Los Angeles, he wakes up poisoned by a baddie and with less than an hour to live (but, it’s also worth noting that the film’s runtime is over an hour and a half, so we know that the Stath is going to last a little longer than his foe intended). However, luckily for our cockney hero (yes, he’s not bothering with his faux U.S. accent) he soon figures out that if he keeps his adrenaline suitably raised then he’ll be okay (well, not okay, but won’t die instantly).

So, that’s basically the film – Jason Statham runs (literally!) from scene to scene, finding one weird and wonderful way of keeping his heart rate up while trying to track down and kill the person who did this to him (and, if there’s a genuine antidote out there, he’ll have that, too). And that’s where the video game similarities start to ring true. It does seem like Jason Statham is travelling from one ‘level’ to the next, fighting an ‘end-of-level-boss’ before moving on to the next.

Totally ridiculous concept with over the top, high octane action and tongue firmly in cheek.
This Statham vehicle is full of extreme stunts, supercharged fight scenes and a dose of public sex just to cover all the bases.
It's a totally crazy film, fast paced, like a shot of visual epinephrine. Don't over think it, just throw some popcorn about and enjoy the spectacle.
I loved it. 5 Stars.

It always amuses me when people go see a movie and comment on it not being something that it never intended to be. If you want believable storylines and actions, character development and seriousness then you'd never come and watch this movie to begin with.

Crank is an all out actionfest film, a thrillride from beginning to end. Yes there's unrealistic events, yes there's moments that are downright amusing, but it does what it says on the tin. We're not talking The Shawshank Redemption here people.

Statham plays his typical Lock Stock/Transporter style which fits this film perfectly. Basically it's action at 200mph from beginning to end with some fantastic camerawork and some great moments which you can't help but enjoy. Sure there are some scenes (especially coming towards the end but I won't leave any spoilers) that look a bit dodgy, but I think we can forgive that for this type of film.

Personally I loved it. If you want an all out action packed film full of stunts, women and a few laughs then you can't go wrong with this. If you want character driven thoughtfulness then look elsewhere. All I can say is, send the mrs out, get the mates round, crack open a few beers, whack this on and prepare to be entertained.
