Young love, old love, love forever, lost love and love that's been there right from the start. Valentine's Day packs a fantastic star-studded cast from the likes of big names like Julia Roberts and Ashton Kutcher to newbies like the Taylors (Swift + Lautner) as it shows the amazing and very different types of love. From the offset, you can see that this is a romantic comedy and you may instantly think 'oh look, another sappy, love-dovey rom-com'. Don't. This films packs a serious punch and isn't just another soppy box-office filler. This is pure cinematic gold (if you're into rom-coms) and it's also easy to see why the film did so well at the box-office, besides the fact that it had a really famous all-star cast!

There are quite a few couples in the film, as well as some singletons, and each character has their own unique flaws and greatnesses that accentuates the films allegory of 'love is different, embrace it'. I can't say too much without giving the plot-lines away but I can say that as a person who cries at films less than a person with no tear-ducts, I cried whilst watching Valentine's Day 5 TIMES. Honestly, the film is so charming and heart-warming, and while it may sound like a far too over-used cliché, it really tugged at my heartstrings. Oh-no-my-eyes-are-watering love stuff aside, this movie also provides some fairly surprising twists.

I can really say no bad about this film, apart from the fact that I would have loved to see more of the wonderful comedian George Lopez, he's hilarious in the film (!) and the fact that I could make a an entire game out of pointing out all of the incredible famous people wasn't the best either.

This film got terrible reviews but I still went to see it on its opening weekend at the cinema. I am a big fan of rom coms and I thought this film was good, but not as good as it could have been.

The different couples are fun and interesting but there arent many that you will really be rooting for. And although the stories about the couples were interesting, Id say there is really only one that will tug at the heartstrings.

This film is a bit like an American Love Actually and I think that comparison is what lets it down. Love Actually is brilliant and heart-warming and so if you see this film with idea that it will be as good, you will be let down.

Having said that this film is funny, and well just nice really. I'm going to get the dvd when it comes out. It will definitely brighten up a dull afternoon.

This film is along similar lines to "He's Just Not That Into You" and admittedly when I watched 'Valentines Day' at the cinema I was a little disappointed because as story lines go it wasn't exactly brilliant. However when I bought it on dvd and watched it again I was pleasantly surprised at the light humour in the film and the feeling it leaves you with after it has finished. The only thing that really disappointed me about this film when I watched it on dvd was that Jessica Alba's character doesn't get a happy ending which is a real shame but hey I guess it reflected reality a little better than the average rom-com!

Overall 'Valentines Day' is a lovely feel good film with a great all-star cast which includes some beautiful men! - Ashton Kutcher, Patrick Dempsey, Bradley Cooper and Taylor Lautner. Get this film and put it in your dvd collection where it belongs! :)

This movie was clearly inspired by the amazing film that was "Love actually", but the attempt to reproduce the latter's success failed miserably!

It is not enough to line up a battalion of Hollywood stars and send them to the front - a film, like an offensive in war, needs at least some kind of plan (in movies they call it a scenario) to achieve success. But "Valentine's day" was clearly made in such a hurry, that instead of a scenario there is just a rushed accumulation of different stories, most of them lame and poorly acted. The director was clearly working on a strict deadline, because in almost all the stories the solutions seem completely artificial! Most of them give the impression exactly as if the guy in charge of scenario, lacking of time, forced the stories on their characters as one packs clothes in a too small suitcase - pressing it with heavy boots and finally sitting on it with all the weight of his butt! And even worse, there is not much love in "Valentine's day" - which for a supposed romantic comedy is a real problem! As if all of that was not enough, my favorite actress, Jessica Biel, has in this movie a haircut and makeup which age her 10 years and reduce her from the "smoking hot" level to "moderate with occasional cold". I hated this movie and it really ruined my evening!

I am however giving it two stars instead of one, because there are some - limited - redeeming moments. Julia Roberts is one of the few good things in "Valentine's day" and her story is the only one in which love shines with all its power! Also, if you watch the final credits to the very end, you will hear her deliver the best joke of the movie...
