Awful remake and a disgrace to the Halloween Franchise, with a awful cast and over the top deaths, I mean the mother with the white horse, what was that all about?. And Malcolm Mcdowell was awful, all he was bothered about was making a bit of cash, I just hope Donald pleasance doesn't turn in his grave. For me this is the worst Halloween film to date, plus one of the worst horror films ever made.

Oh my god what a disaster,For starters they could of got a thousand more actresses more tasteful than that to play Laurie, vile, unsavoury, and most importantly can't act,and whats with the vulgar need to swear in almost every sentence, and once again another of todays movies that completely has no direction, dream part didn't make scence, you REALLY shouldn't call this a movie,'and don't even get me started on the repulsive Dr Loomis, again vile, rude, abusive,at very, very best unprofessional, especially as the original Laurie and Dr Loomis were absolutely lovely, that new Loomis is an actual clown.

again mr rob zombie ruined yet another halloween film! .. this has got to be one of the worst sequels i seen! changing yet again so many things! for example halloween 2 original is based in a hospital! this one starts off quite good as it looks like it picks up in a hospital where he does a few gruesome killings and proceeds to go after laurie strode! however this is just a dream she's having and wakes up blah blah blah! ... through the film yo dont see micheal much (not in his mask anyway) except when he's walking through fields doig totally sod all!! .. real real bad and if i was you i wouldnt even give it the time or day! shame really he could of made these films a modern day classic!

I recall watching this puppy at the flicks with my mouth agape at the absurdity of what unspooled before me: A scruffy lookin' hobo Michael Myers, a totally unlikeable Dr Loomis, a wasted Brad Dourif and a ripe old finger to the fans from director Rob Zombie were just a few choice nuggets that made up my initial reaction. However, upon second viewing - maybe, just maybe, I got it all wrong...

Beginning mere moments after the 2007 remake ended, we find Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) walking the streets in a daze following her stabby dispatch of series psychopath Michael Myers (Tyler Mane). Here she is rescued by Sheriff Brackett (Dourif) and sent to the hospital, where 'ol Mikey pops up (Piff! Paff! Puff!) out of nowhere and begins his daily business of murderizing everyone in sight. From here on in, the movie leaves no horror cliche stone unturned as we are treated to fake dream sequences, half baked pretentious symbolism, horny teen hijinx and a whole host of ugly characters that would rather spew profanity than you know, talk normally to each other.

This movie hasn't had the kindest reviews and I can see why: The screenplay isn't tight and as a sequel, it bears no relation to what has gone before in terms of aesthetic style. On the surface, its as if director Rob Zombie lost interest in his characters (sorry, John Carpenter's characters) and was only here due to some contractual obligation, rather than a creative impulse to continue with 'his vision'. However, even with all of that said - upon second viewing (and especially the US released directors cut), I got a different feeling from the film: Okay, its never going to be mistaken for a good movie, but at least it feels ''different''.

A let down: Rob Zombie is very overrated but here he has no excuse. I think we had enough after first Halloween, the only episode by Carpenter and worth a look. All the rest is boring, including this attempt to get back to the beginning and try to say something more, like it was a product of social and family evil
Along with the first one, the worst film by Rob Zombie. Better go for Lords of Salem's and House of the devil

I have to agree with many of the reviews written about this film< I do not own my self on dvd but have seen it (what I could see of it talk about dark scenes could not see a sodding thing which as it happens that was fortunate) the first remake was excellent and I expected this to be the same how wrong can someone be as it was Rob Zombie and from other films he has made I was expecting this to be as good as the first Halloween film he did and on par with his other films but this is the most awful film in his fanchise I have no idea what made him to make this one, I have seen some dreadful so called horror movies in my time but this resembles nothing like the orginal Halloween films in any shape or form. So on conclustion ths is a waste of money and time, by all means if you wish to see it then do so but I advise caution. Like everything else it is up to you to make you own mind up I like everyone else can only advise you.

the first rob zombie remake of Halloween 1 was compelling, it gave an insight into the character of myers without being cheesy or overly sympathetic, it was gritty and unapologetic whist retaining the nostalgia of the murders from the original it managed to combine that with a more modern approach. The second film is none of that, it focuses on a supernatural drive that allows myers to kill and ridiculously uses Myers mother as an antagonist for his murders, she is seen pushing him to kill which is completely opposed to her character from the first film and the film is reduced to a bad attempt to combine poor horror and even worse supernatural.
