Product Description

Cheeky 1970s British sex comedy. Barry Andrews stars as virginal nerd Jon Pigeon, who manages to secure a job in a sex research institute where the patients run about the corridors naked, nude aerobics are encouraged and no man is safe from the crotch-grabbing tea lady. In his attempts to seduce pretty office secretary Cheryl (Sally Faulkner), Pigeon invents a machine called Agnes that emits a 'sonic aphrodisiac' guaranteed to turn any man or woman into an slathering sex maniac. Although his attempts to zap Cheryl are singularly unsuccessful, Pigeon gets some interesting results when he accidentally turns the 'sex ray' on his bullying boss Nutbrown (James Booth) and the prudish Mary Watchtower (Geraldine Hart).

I saw this film in 1976 at the pictures and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I liked Billy Hamon (in a manly way!) and remembered him from the English soap 'Crossroads'.

Apart from the fact I know it was very good, all I recall is this exchange involving Billy Hamon as Keith Fury...

"Mum? Would you say I'm an idiot?"
"Alright, son - you're an idiot!"

Got a big laugh at the ABC Southampton.

Poor old Jon Pigeon is a science nerd who works in a rather saucy sex clinic, as a low level janitor.
He spends his nights looking at girly mags (and I'm not talking Bunty here!) and dreams one day of finally getting his end away with his horrid boss's secretary, played by Sally Faulkner, but unfortunately his wing man helping him get a bit of how's your father in all of this mess is a bloke even worse around the ladies than he is..
So he invents a sonic sex ray in his janitor's cupboard, with a view to stunning Sally Faulkner with it, in an attempt to fulfil his dream.. But this just leads to further problems, as the clinic he works at get wind of the newfangled sex ray and attempt to steal his idea.
To further add to Pigeon's problems, passers by keep getting accidentally zapped and so orgies of naughtiness keep popping up (and out!) everywhere...

In fairness this sounds much better than it probably is, don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed it but in fairness it is rather rubbish; an acquired taste maybe.
Anyway, Barry Andrews plays our hapless hero, with James Booth as his randy, obnoxious twit of a boss. With his mental sidekick, played by Billy Hamon, who's probably the funniest thing in the film, especially the rather politically incorrect scene involving a phone call to his mother.
And although the film is as thick as two short planks and completely inoffensive, one may want to consider that this has a rather sexist, almost uncomfortable vibe to it at times, in which women are constantly man-handled, bullied, groped and objectified by the domineering men (mostly by Booth as Nutbrown..

I've watched many sex comedies but not until today this title. I believe this is the first DVD release and indeed the first ever uncut release in any format.

Well if your familiar with the genre and have a liking for innuendo, wacky plots, over the top comic acting and lot's of naked ladies then this is definitely one for you.

The film opens with Mary Millington (in an uncredited role) walking down the street in a tight Emmanuelle T shirt wearing her trademark sun glasses. She is enticed into a workmans tent and is promptly rodgered by the said workman, while our hapless virginal hero John Pigeon (Barry Andrews) looks on in appreciation. I have to say he wasn't the only one, he he. It struck me at this point how vivid the colour transfer of this DVD was making it look as though it was made yesterday, credit due on such a good release.

Andrews plays a janitor whon invents a sex ray (AGNES) that make people feel incredibly randy indeed. His objective is to seduce Sally Faulkner and lose his cherry, however this is far easier said than done. In a nut shell that's the basic plot. There are some great lines and comic performances (James Booth is hilarious) that really make this film stand out from some of it's contemporaries. It's not the Confessions infact it's far ruder, the nudity quota is far higher than the standard of the day and there are a bevy of beauties on screen for your viewing pleasure. However the film does not rely on this alone and has a cohesive plot that moves along at a brisk pace keeping the viewer engaged throughout, making it a cut above the average sex comedy fair. I recemtly watched 'Can you keep it up for a week' and was struck by how poor that film was in comparison making 'I'm not feeling myself tonight' look like a master piece in comparison.

If you appreciate the genre, like a laugh and aren't expecting anything too taxing this could pace and hour and twenty very nicely indeed. Enjoy!

I expected this to be funnier than it was, However, it's entertainment value is about par for the course. Good to see some of the well known actors were still getting parts.
