My girlfriend bought me this game as an early christmas present, and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with it.

The game runs very well even on my fairly mediocre system, even at full settings in DX9. The game is very processor intensive, so bear that in mind.

The only niggle I have with the game is that it uses the ever interminably irritating Games for Windows LIVE, as as such you need an active internet connection to save your game and play, even single player. While this allows PC gamers access to features like achievements and a proven multiplayer service, it can be annoying for people who just want to play offline, or while on the move.

I enjoy the game immensely, and other than the fights with Windows LIVE, I have no complaints and would recommend this to any racing game fan, especially those who enjoy rally and other dirty race sports.

After waiting 40 minutes or so for it to install, all I have seen of this game is the game logo, then the Blue Screen of Doom.

That's it. That is all I got for my money.

Codemasters just advise updating my drivers, but my drivers are up to date. I do not have this problem with any other software, but Codemasters are not interested. It is totally disgracefull that software companies put out software that clearly is not fit for purpose.

My system is Intel 9660 Quad Core 3.0GHz CPU, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Geforce GTX 275, Windows XP OS which is a pretty common set up, so there is no excuse for Codemasters getting this wrong.

I have to say I am really enjoying playing Dirt 2! It is very simple, gets straight to the racing, cars are fairly easy to control, races are short and so they tend not to be tedious. There is a lot of variety in the racing as well.

The graphics are good, but you hardly get a chance to admire the scenery or the detailed crowds (with DirectX 11 they look quite awesome). The developers have made sure no part of the game is spent waiting for something to happen, I hate watching an arrow spinning aimlessly whilst a game loads the next level!

I decided not to crank up the graphics to max as I want to race not admire the paintwork on the car next to me. I prefer decent FPS and with Dirt 2 it runs very smooth on my rig.

This game is a nice improvement over the first one, it feels a lot like Grid: Race Driver but off road. This is no SIM, but it can be challenging enough and I really liked the fact it was easy to set my wheel up without endless tweaks.

If, you enjoy racing games like me, and hate those games that have cars that handle like you are driving on ice the whole time, then Dirt 2 is well worth a look.
