For those who liked the original Fast and the Furious, or even other similar types like 'Gone in 60 seconds', then this sequel is definitely for you.
Paul Walker returns from the first movie, and this time teams with his new partner Tyrese, who replace Vin Diesel. This time round, Paul Walker is an ex-cop who is forced into catching Miami's drug lord by the DEA, and Walker recruits his ex-convict's (Tyrese) help, with the gorgeous Eva Mendes as the undercover agent helping them. So the story is set...but this movie is not really about the story alone...cue the fast cars, amazing stunts, and stunning women dressed in very little. It's a simple formula which has worked before, and it works again here. But the difference in 2 Fast 2 Furious, is the natural on-screen camaraderie shared by Walker and Tyrese-they are both comic and complement each other scarily well.
As for the DVD, there are some nice added features including the music video by Ludacris, commentary by the Director John Singleton, and some featurettes which help to bridge the gaps in the story from the first movie to the second. All in all, a great package!

Not as good as good as the first film but worth a watch nonetheless. The actual film is pretty poor but the set pieces are great.

The acting is a mixed bag, with one of the leads (Tyrese) being exceedingly annoying and Eva Mendes doing virtually nothing throughout except looking hot. The film fails to bring alive the script but the car action is great to watch and the bad guy is particlularly menacing in a stone cold way.

The film fills in the background and early years of the main character from the first film and gives us more of the same, hot chicks, vulgar cars and cameos form hip hop stars.

This film take the stunts and driving to a new level and is well worth a watch for that alone - you won't find much else on offer in it, but the car scenes make this a worthwhile watch if you just want some fun.

2 Fast 2 Furious delivers more fast paced action than the first. The action never stops, the humour is great and most importantly the cars are awesome. This is good if you want to buy the edited version of The Fast And The Furious with the new film. Don't be fooled, this @ amazon is probably the best buy even with P&P as they are more trustworthy than other online dvd companies.

The second instalment of what will become an on going film franchise, 2 Fast 2 Furious ticks all the boxes of the action junkie fan. Paul Walker is back as Brian O'Conner and joined by Tyrese Gibson and Eva Mendes, who all get involved in an undercover job to bring down Cole Hauser's nefarious bad guy. There's lots of awesome cars, pecs and breasts, noise, carnage, violence and awful dialogue. The story is weak, but are we really looking for some brains over brawn here? We want car porn and we want it now! And so it delivers as per our polite request. John Singleton directs, David Arnold scores the music and Matthew F. Leonetti photographs the sumptuous Florida locations. 6/10

Despite newer The Fast and the Furious films being out there now, the earlier ones are definitely the best of the series as they are focused on high speed street races, instead of robbing banks or trucks (yes, the first film was about hijacking a truck but it wasn't the main focus of the film).

This time around, I took closer look at the details, the humour sense of Tyrese, anecdotes during the film, music, cars equipment and etc, everything's so much better and clearer when seen in HD.

Whether you're buying 2 Fast 2 Furious on HD-DVD, Blu-ray or Digital HD Format, definitely buy the film, it's worth the money and the time.

Lastly, I must say, Tyrese did a fantastic job with his role in this film, he had all the ingredients necessitated, though my favourite part of Tyrese was that he was very comedic (that and he envied Monica went with Brian).

After the enjoyable first film, 2 Fast 2 Furious is a bit of a step down focusing a lot less on racing cars than expected. Paul Walker stills goes a good job as Brian O'Connor, a former cop send to Miami to bring down a crooked businessman, and Tyrese is a decent replacement for Vin Diesel. Eve Mendes is also good in the role of. Martha, an undercover cop also determined to bring this corrupt business man down, but with less action as the previous film, is not as fun.

Former cop Brian O'Connor is now a wanted man living in Miami after the events of the first film. To avoid jail time he agrees to go undercover with a childhood friend to investigate a dodgy businessman who is using street racing as a cover for a drug operation. A forgettable brainless plot but good fun to watch with some good action. The now sadly late Paul Walker returns for this first sequel in the now neverending franchise and is the only original cast member in this film though it introduces Tyrese into the mix as O'Connor's former childhood friend and now reluctant partner. Acting is wooden and sorry to speak ill of the dead but Paul Walker whose death was a shock at such a young age was hardly the world's greatest actor but he was good at what he does with action scenes especially behind the wheel and there is a buddy buddy double act with Tyrese. Nothing you haven't seen before in a dozen similar films then but good, brainless, throwaway disposable fun. There is a short 5 minute film before the main film showing how O'Connor got to Miami which isn't bad but doesn't really add anything.
