3.0 out of 5 stars Comedy Class, 6 Nov 2009
By DL Productions UK (Merseyside, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
The School Of Comedy is a 6 episode show where kids (Will Poulter, Beth Rylance and Jack Harries) take over and set their comedy agenda. Some of the funniest moments in the show include the cabbie who never shuts up, and lies about everything, the 40s couple, where one is homosexual and the other is a lesbian; the vulgar art gallery owner; the South African security guards and the one where the businessman thinks cleavage will solve everything.

This show is mediocre - it's funny but it does over do it sometimes, like the boy in the van yelling at women, it was funny the first time. Some of the stuff is genius like the estate agent and the funny doors, and the school teacher bullying the children - but at times it's too juvenile, and it's too adult for children, so you wonder who's it trying to amuse.

This is rather a unique project as most of them were born during the mid 90s - usually it's older comedians dressed as kids doing this stuff, so it's quite a novel idea from C4 and Barunka O'Shaughnessy; who like many of us have wondered what children would be like telling adult jokes. It's good to see it went from the Comedy Lab through to being a full series.

Hoping for some interviews on the DVD, and some behind the scenes. I suspect we will get a gag reel and some deleted scenes like most 4DVD releases.

Worth pre-ordering if you enjoy silly comedy and don't want to think hard about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant stuff!, 8 Nov 2009
Seriously seriously talented kids here folks who are greater actors than most adults max and will are amazing they can make anything funny and they are great at adding their own funny twists on things the sisters ella and lily are amazing also lily can copy an adult down to a t. the sketches are always funny and you don't get bored with them as you're more focused on the kids and what they'll come up with if school of comedy were an after school class at all schools attendance would go through the roof of kids wanting to join this idea. i'm 18 and i would kill to be in this show i love it so much, and what's also great is that you can tell that they're all having allot of fun doing it :)
