Tango and cash is another in the list of great buddy movies, and as usual its two guys who hate each other who have a united goal and end up great friends while killing and drawing blood from all manner of scum.

The movie stars stallone and kurt russell who are two cops from opposite sides of the city who are great at catching shipments of drugs, both are big headed and wise cracking and great at what they do and always want to outshine the other.

However a drug lord is annoyed at the pair of them and decides that if he gets them killed it will draw heat on him,but if he frames them for murder and drug dealings then they will lose respect and serve time in prison and maybe get killed by the criminals that tango and cash convicted.

Hence all of the drug lords plan comes to conviction as tango and cash head to jail and fight for their lives amidst some great jokes and puns and macho moments, the on screen chemistry between stallone and russell is good and all in all this is a feel good movie with blood and laughs.

An underrated and somewhat forgotten 80s testosterone fuelled cheesy action classic, best enjoyed with the sound turned up loud, beer and a pizza.Stallone and Russell work well as a team and there's lots of good action scenes and fighting. A great score from Harold Faltermeyer too. This film has never looked better on Blu-ray, naturally. A good solid transfer that noticeably improves over the DVD. There's a DTS HD audio track, and the video is an AVC encode and runs at an average of 20MB/s. The film is fully uncut. No special features apart from the trailer, sadly, but it's still a great buy if you're a fan of the genre. Buy it.

Tango & Cash is without doubt one of Stallone's best films. With great action, excellent soundtrack and more humour and one-liners than you could wave a stick at.
ie. Cash: "When we get out of here we can grab coffee and a Danish."
Tango: (with reference to his former money grabbing psycho of a wife) "I hate Danish."
Tango & Cash has it all.
Will there ever be a special edition DVD with a Stallone/Russell commentary track?

Ray Tango and Gabe Cash are two L.A. based cops who work in different precincts. They have seized millions of dollars of drugs and weapons that belong to Perret.

Realising that they have to be dealt with, Perret frames them. Sensing that the evidence against them is too overwhelming, their lawyers advise them to take a plea bargain, on the guarantee that they would be sent to a minimum security prison.

But Perret arranges for them to be sent to a hell hole and it's there that he plans to have them killed and make it appear that one of the men they sent there killed them.

One of the prison's officials, who is an old friend of Cash, tells them that they have to escape, which they do.

They then go out and try and find the man who framed them....

This is one of those movies that, if you saw it at the right age, it would stand the test of time, and still be as good as the first time you saw it.

I was thirteen when I first saw this, and it never gets boring, but one thing I have learnt in the twenty four years since its release, it's not a serious film, and it nearly verges on parody.

Russell upstages Stallone in this, and whilst both are very good, Russell's character is the most fun and interesting. He's the Riggs to Stallones Murtaugh, and this hereby lies the main problem, you cannot see this film without comparing it to Lethal Weapon, why, Russell and Gibson have the same wardrobe and haircut.

The action is good, and way over the top, and Palance is as pantomime as he was in Batman, but thankfully he's not in it that much to make it too hammy.

James has a ball as the awful cockney villain, and its your typical Summer movie, albeit released at the wrong time of the year.
