Synopsis

Produced by Donald Bellisario (JAG), N.C.I.S. follows the workings of investigators at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Led by the wise Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a crack investigator with no qualms about bending the rules to find his answers, the team takes on cases involving terrorism, murder, espionage, and international arms smuggling. Gibbs is aided by homicide detective Anthony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly), forensic scientist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), medical examiner Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard (David McCallum), computer expert Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and new department head Jennifer Shepard (Lauren Holly). This collection presents every episode from the show's fifth series.

Another great season of NCIS: NAVAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE begins with the dramatic conclusion to Season 4's cliffhanger. Although this season is five episodes shorter than usual (19 episodes, instead of 24 -due to the writer's strike), it dosen't disappoint.
By no means is this the greatest season of NCIS, but it's damn worth watching and will provide good hours of great entertainment!

For me NCIS is probably the best crime drama around. There is a lot of depth to the series compared to some of the other US crime shows.

Over season 5 the La Grenouille storyline is concluded which ended with a cliffhanger in season four's finale, "Angel of Death". It also reveals more background information about Gibbs' past before NCIS as well as revealing more about the other charaters. The season concludes in dramatic fashion over a 2-part finale which results in a major change for both the team and the agency. The only gripe I have is that Gibbs' rules have not been expanded on currently we only 14 out of the 50 Gibbs' has stated there are. Apart from that this season is a brilliant continuation of the NCIS series.

As of yet the DVD extras have not been revealed. Hopefully they will reveal more about the production of the show as well as revealing more about the characters.

Well worth buying.

If you are old enough to remember 'The Streets of San Francisco' and 'Hawai 5 O' then you're probably hooked on NCIS. Is it the characters or the script that makes NCIS so special? I believe the answer is the former. The script? Well, that's icing on the cake. This was how it was with Hawaii 5 O. It's that love at first sight thing. We just love the characters. They work well together. They are human but importantly they are to us absent friends or the friends we wished we had. They're nice to come home to. They have that special thing Charisma! You either got it or you haven't and they got it and that's that. So what about season six? They love you, they love you not? Your friends will not be absent for long!
