Product Description

Product Description

The sexually frustrated women of Sodding Chipbury lead a humdrum existence until Bob, the handsome new handyman, arrives in their picturesque village. The local ladies love his handiwork and, luckily for them, randy Bob certainly has the right tool for the job! However, when Bob takes over the running of the local pub his stamina for odd jobs and horny housewives is stretched to the absolute limit. This classic 1970s British sex comedy stars Barry Stokes (Norman J. Warren s Spaced Out) and Gay Soper (voice of The Flumps) supported by a roll-call of familiar faces including Bob Todd (The Benny Hill Show), Valerie Leon (Carry On Up the Jungle) and Sue Lloyd (Crossroads).

Have not seen this film for years, first viewed it when i was in my twenty's, i sat down with a beer and enjoyed watching it again, my type of film, cheeky but good fun.

A 1970s cash in on the popular Confessions series. This is hugely unsubtle, with obvious innuendo, wooden acting and leaden directing. Makes you realise just how well made and acted the Confessions films were.

However, it's flaws may contribute to its charm. Even thought I was aware that this was a technically terrible film, I couldn't help but laugh and enjoy every dumb joke or slapstick moment immensely. Yes, the build ups to the innuendos are obvious, but a child in me still tittered at them.

The reason for films like this was purely to get some smut on the screen at a time when censorship was rife. It was bundled up as comedies and made by people well aware they could reap the rewards of the promise of a few naked women on screen.

Just to make it even more worthy, there's a Benny Hill style chase at the end!

Saw this on TV many years ago what a hoot. Loads of well known comedy actors, plenty of slapstick, lots of naughty goings on and great fun.

You either like this or hate it. I like it a lot.

This is a typical 70's British sex comedy in the Confessions of type. Although not quite there, it doesn't do too badly at all..... Probably a little more on the nudity and sex than the classics, and no attempt at subtlety at all, it's still well worth a watch. With a very annoyingly catching theme tune that I can't get out of my head a week later and a couple of well known faces, this is a fun movie of a type that we will never see again. Saucy seaside postcard humour on film!

This was a fairly good low-budget comedy. It brings to mind 'Casino Royale' (the David Niven version), because it seemed to have more than one director involved, as the "production style" appeared to vary in places. Some parts were like a Benny Hill show. But overall was an enjoyable movie.

I used to watch films of this type at my local cinema during the '70s, and remember finding them mildly amusing. Since I had not seen this particular film before, I decided to give it a try. Not a classic by any means, but entertaining in parts. It shows some scenes reminiscent of what Benny Hill used to get away with in his TV comedy series which were very popular at the time. Towards the end of this film, a speeded up chase, which Benny Hill and co. were so good at all those years ago, created a few laughs, and good memories too of those TV shows.. I viewed it as an alright film, just to while away 80 minutes or so when there was nothing worth viewing on the Box. Don't be too critical, just sit back and enjoy it.

This film is a rip -off I suppose of the Confessions - Confessions Of A Window Cleaner/Confessions Of A Driving Instructor/Confessions From A Holiday Camp/Confessions Of A Pop Performer [DVD] or even Adventures of a...Collection (Plumbers Mate / Private Eye / Taxi Driver) [DVD] series of soft core UK sex comedies of the 1970's. However it lacks their subtlety, wit and sophistication (cough). I well remember as youth plotting and scheming to get into the cinema to see this film and the others like it but without success.

So here is my chance at last to get to see it. And what rubbish it is too. Dreadful acting, awful script, low as low can be production values, even the girls are not as fit as I remembered. This film is just as bad now as on the day (or perhaps both days) on which it was made.

I love it!

Yes, this film is truly awful, but as a way of reliving one's youth and remembering a time free of the hand wringing political correctness of today it can't be beat. Buy it.

Its a load of nonsensical load of twaddle but its ok for a bit of a giggle when you don't want to watch anything intellectual.
