My wife and I have been fans of the late David Warbeck for many years and I have also liked Anouska Hempel. Both give excellent performances in this Russ Meyer concoction. Arrowfilms DVD has delivered a very nice wide screen print of the film, the colors are crisp and clear and the audio is also good. The scenery is amazing and the film has some great performances from the supporting cast. Poor David Prowse only gets to grunt and run around like a mindless maniac and Percy Herbert chews the scenery as the whip wielding slave master. The film itself goes from serious social commentary on the treatment of the slaves to some truly bizarre bedroom scenes that range from slapstick to serious. Not a great deal of nudity, the occasional rear and side view of the lovely Anouska, but the few topless shots are possibly from a body double. I won't go into too much detail as it would spoil the film.
Arrowfilms has included the Russ Meyer trailers as well as a TV Spot for the film. Let's hope they continue to release more rare films with the same quality prints as this one.

Black snake is hilarious if you have a dark sense of humour and really enjoy exploitation films this is the one for you..

The is movie is just ok...at least by Russ Meyer standards. I'm curious as to whether this latest disc is enhanced for 16:9 TVS...I can't find any info anywhere...
