Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Acer redefines mobile connectivity with Aspire one, the revolutionary netbook packed with fun and powerful computing features in a diminutive 8.9" form factor.

SmartStart in just 15 seconds
From the moment you switch it on, the Aspire one is ready to go in just 15 seconds (with Linpus™ Linux® Lite version). That’s what we call a smart start. Once on, the interface is pure simplicity: a home screen divided into four areas that contain all the applications you need to stay connected, work, play, and organize your life on the road. And as your Aspire one is as unique as the way you use it, you can customize the applications on the home screen so that it’s just right for you. Fast, simple and indescribably chic. That’s your new life with the Aspire one.

Vision: One idea
How big is perfection? How small is ideal?
The Aspire one has an 8.9” CrystalBrite LED backlit LCD with 1024x600 resolution and an integrated CrystalEye™ webcam that offers just the right balance between easy-toread clarity and easy-to-use functionality. You could almost call it the perfect fit.

Power: One energy
Power comes in many forms. Often the smallest is the most powerful. The Aspire one comes with the Intel® Atom™ processor, built with the world’s smallest transistors and designed specifically for low power consumption while delivering the power and performance you need for full online freedom.

Style: One look
Your style is your signature. It is your identity, your personality your calling card. Your style tells the world who you are and how you live your life, both online and off. It is all you need to be yourself. Your style comes in different colours, each with its own individual character. So does the Aspire one.

Feeling: One freedom
Smaller than an average diary and weighing less than 1 kilo (models with NAND flash module), the Aspire one puts freedom in the palm of your hands. Freedom to use WiFi, WiMAX and 3G Networks* to explore new ways to connect, communicate and interact with the world you care about. Freedom to go beyond ultra-mobility. Freedom to be yourself anywhere you want to.
(* depending on model and network readiness)

Experience: One control
The Aspire one has one of the most intuitive interfaces out there that takes just seconds to learn, and smart software that keeps you productive, entertained and connected all the time. Why? Because your online world is a very personal place that changes every time you connect but remains familiar because it’s a world you create. One interface, a whole world to discover. Why do it any differently?

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Netbook, 27 April 2009

This review is from: Acer Aspire One A150L Netbook, Linpus Linux Lite Version, 8.9-inch Crystalbrite TFT LCD, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60 Ghz (Brown) (Electronics)
The Acer Aspire is perfect if you're looking for a very portable computer. Its light and very easy to carry around, especially with the extra cover that I also purchased for it. It looks more like a filofax! The keyboard although small is not difficult to type on. I touch-type and have no difficulty at all - this being one of my concerns prior to purchasing the netbook. Although the Acer is very reasonably priced, it does not look or feel cheap and I have been very impressed with the internet performance. The Linux version was also approx £25 cheaper than the Windows XP version but unless you particularly want Windows, I would definitely recommend Linux. Its easy to use, the set-up is very straight forward and I can't see the point is paying extra for Windows. I paid slightly more for a brown one as I preferred that colour. Overall its a netbook that is well worth the money. I purchased for my small business and internet usage - it is perfect for my needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the money, 26 April 2009

This review is from: Acer Aspire One A150L Netbook, Linpus Linux Lite Version, 8.9-inch Crystalbrite TFT LCD, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60 Ghz (Brown) (Electronics)
Acer Aspire One A150-Ab Netbook, Linpus Linux Lite version, 512MB DDR2 RAM, 120GB HD (Sapphire Blue)I bought one of these in the Sale from John Lewis with a 2 year warranty for £170. It is my first Linux computer and using it involves some learning from experience. The main problem I have has is I have had to reinstall the OS about 5 times now, however this is much easier to do than reinstalling windows. I find booting up very fast, because Linux is more secure than Windows I have not installed any security software which would slow down a computer with a slow processor and only 512mb memory. However if you don't like Linux it should be possible to install Linux. However with Open Office, Firefox 3 Mozilla Thunderbird, VLC media player and Adobe pdf reader installed you can do most of the things you could do on a Windows PC I like it's small weight I find the screen much easier to read than my ipaq pda, the short battery life can be managed with a high capacity 6 or 9 cell replacement
