Synopsis
In the year 2707, Earth's natural resources have been exhausted by mankind. Battle rages between the soldiers of four leading Corporations: Capitol, Bauhaus, Mishima and Imperial. When the violence breaks an ancient stone seal, Necromutants appear and begin to multiply by the millions, destroying all before them. The Corporations' leader, Constantine (John Malkovich), is about to abandon the planet and leave countless innocents to their desperate fate, when he is approached by Brother Samuel (Ron Pearlman), leader of the Brotherhood, an ancient monastic order who offers hope to the discouraged leader. Against the odds Constantine entrusts brother Samuel and other likeminded soldiers to save them from the mutant armies.

Epic B movie movie attempt, with an enthusiastic fanboy heart that tries SO hard to please the audience and pretty much makes it work. Good mindless fun, with FX that range from great to average. Has a nice broad feel and an original look. Well worth a viewing. Shame the disc doesn't have a commentary track but the making of is good. Much better than expected and should have had a cinema release.

MUTANT CHRONICLES is an average filmat best. Unfortunately. There are many missed oportunities here. The film delivers an excellent cast and has some really good ideas - which are executed poorly. The SGI FX are bad - you can really see they're fake. The characters in this film however are very good - some really good acting here. That's about all. The story is not very exciting at all (most of the film is quite boring), the visuals are poor. A pity, this could have been so much more.

I purchased this move as it appeared on my Amazon recommended list. I knew nothing else, I just pressed "Buy".

This was a good move.

This movie is categorically not what it sounds like. No spoilers here but if you like Dog Soldiers, Riddick, Gears of War, Serenity and They Live, buy this movie.
