This was just what I had hoped for. Compact (about 8" x 5"), easy to tune, good sound (the telescopic aerial is fine), simple controls and good looking. And usefully with FM as well as DAB, plus 5 pre-sets on both. The in-built battery charger is great, and the radio operates well on batteries - handy if you want to take it in (say) the garden for a few hours. The only feature lacking is a handle, which seems a bit odd for a portable radio, but that's only a very minor issue as it is small and light and easy to carry.

A good value buy.

An update on the batteries. I had wondered whether this DAB radio would work well or for long on batteries, having had a previous one which didn't. But I have used this radio plenty of times on them, for several hours at a time, with no problems whatsoever, and they appear to be recharging very well.

Excellent little radio. Sensitivity very good. Sound is OK considering small speaker. I found a problem with the batteries, using the radio to charge them. First internal charge gave 12 hours' use with 2700 NiMH batts, next charge gave 6 hrs and next charge 5hrs. Using a Maplin digital charger it shows that one or two of the batts are flat while the others have a good charge. Two cycles of discharge/charge with separate charger brings battery life back to 13 hrs. Not a serious problem but it does affect the versatility of the radio. I've asked Roberts for a comment.

It's a good radio in a neat design (unlike the usual big box style DABs)and the sound is quite good, if a little base biased.
However, it just eats batteries and trying to recharge the batteries in situ is hopelessly slow.
It takes 6 AAs so you need to buy 12 of these along with a seperate charger so you've got a freshly recharged set as soon as one set is depleted.
