As such, Belle continues to jump between her two lives, on one hand a legal secretary, and on the other, a high-class prostitute with some very varied clients.

Things get a bit trickier and a lot more heated though for Belle this time around. For series two of Secret Diary Of A Call Girl finds her struggling to keep her two lives entirely apart, her attempts to be a proper girlfriend, and ultimately her plan to get out of the business altogether. Naturally, all of these come with twists and turns along the way, and by the end of the series, her career has taken a quite different turn.

Continually graphic in its portrayal of what Belle does for a living, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl relies heavily on its leading lady to get it through its slower moments. But it continues to be an entertaining enough drama, with the episodes never outstaying their welcome. And a third series is on the way, too… --Jon Foster

This second season of Secret Diary of a Call Girl does as stated in previous reviews suffer from not being quite as saucy as the first. The reason for this is mainly down to the fact that Billie Piper was pregnant through much of the filming so those nude scenes and intimate moments that made the first series so explosive have been toned down. Instead we find Belle/Hannah struggling with the dilema of how to have a relationship when your job invovles you sleeping with men for money?!?

There are some fabulous episodes and we also see Belle taking on a mentoring role in this season to new call girl Bambi which is great viewing especially in one episode where they are both invited along to an erotic party which goes horribly wrong.

I personally cannot wait for Season 3, this is great TV viewing and well written and filmed. Billie Piper is outstanding and I'm sure after the birth of her little boy last year she herself will be keen to get back into shape so she can truly do her character Belle justice in this season.

This is not the kind of series you should watch with your father but on your own or with a couple of friends for some complete fluff!!
It is pure escapism and does have some genuine moments that are thought provoking.
Billie Piper carries the series on her own as some of the supporting cast i.e Bambi aren't Oscar winners but if you love a bit of fluff then why not try it??
There aren't many extras and the ones that are there aren't very good.
On the other hand the episodes are a good time length and filled with funny and sexy moments.

Not as sharp or as sexy as first series , this if def heading more and more in to soap land / Brigitte J comedy . There are some good moments but Im just not interested in whether she goes out with doctor Alex [ the pruddish most moral doctor in the whole world ] . Billie is once again sharp and witty [ ok an increasingly pregnant ] so the camera focuses more and more on her mouth , which does give a cartoon quality to some of the scenes . I guess the very very cheap as chips price for this series does make it good value.

Billy Piper is one of my favourite current TV actors and played this difficult part well - the humour of Belle du Jour only partly translates to the screen.
I suspect that both the screen and book are a glossy reflection of reality however.
For those that wish to delve deeper there are more relistic and grittier expositions - for those wishing to actually follow Billy/Belle forsteps there is :

I own the first two series, it's a modern account of a call girl that explores fantasy and reality. It isn't sleazy or downbeat if anything it adds glamour to the proffesion (not sure if that's a good thing!) overall it's the comedic aspects that makes the series enjoyable. If you want entertainment with a heart then slip the DVD in and enjoy.

This was a superb series to watch and we thoroughly enjoyed it and I dont know how i managed to miss it on the TV but I ordered this whilst browsing Amazon and watched all the series over Christmas. The story line was good as was the acting. I wasn't shocked by the nudity but it might offend others,
