so like most i had given most of the recent global undergrounds a miss. they seem to had lost their "cultural" touch and sense of purpose, not doing the label any justice (felix da housecat for example). but this mix really does bring back the days of the classic GU mixes. there is a sense of soul and effort put into the mix. so i was expecting something similar to paris....but no its totally different, warren seems to excel in the more chilled releases such as rekjavik, but this mix ditches the chilled beats and brings in some progressive and deep house (reminisant of amsterdam and even brazil!). disc two contains the deeper house material, but both discs are evenly spread out, not differing in their coherant sound. in places its epic such as track 9 "Siner" (some euphoric vocals that just sound superb once you have drifted off into the mix). warren hasnt followed the minimal/heavy techno schene and has reasured me that there is some good "proper" house music out there

this is something iv been crying out for recently, something that wouldnt sound out of place in a club, but also suitable for home listening. nick warren has contributed to the GU series massively, and i must say this has to be one of his best (with brazil being my favorite). a statement that im even suprised to say myself as i didnt have much faith in the new GU series. so to conclude, GU35 delivers a progressive, deep house sound that feels right up to date. i highly recommend for the "original" GU fans.

This is prog house at its very best.Both discs are excellent
however disc 2 has a relentless quality not heard on this label
since the brilliant Emerson,Uruguay.Anyone who doesn't like this
is wired all wrong.You wont regret buying it.

Yup! This one is defo up there with the best of the GU series and ive been there from the begining and although the last few have been a let down warren has put the label back where it belongs..... Nick Warren wants to give himself a pat on the back here and consider himself the "SAVIOUR" as just when the label seemed to be heading the same way as the once great but now awfull "ministry of sound" label, he's pulled them right back on track and put them in the right direction once again... I believe both discs to be just as good as each other with quality tunes throughout and an overall mix that really does take you on a journey from start to finish which is what the GU label does best and need to stay with as this is what makes them "GREAT"... Reinstate your faith in the label once again and treat yourself to one of Mr Warrens finest and most probably GU's most important and needed mix of late!!!!!
