'Thieves' is a six song EP that serves as Canadian band The Organ's final farewell, originally meant to be part of a follow-up to their 2004 album 'Grab That Gun'. After an all-too-brief but wildly successful stint in the spotlight, this is the Vancouver five-female band's final collection of bittersweet melodies and sad sad songs. Awash with spooky Hammond organ rolling under mournful tales of death and broken hearts, singer Katie Sketch emotes in pained Morrissey/Debbie Harry tones over tunes not unlike the ones Johnny Marr used to make. The Organ take Joy Division's curdled guitar and the Cure's basslines and lace them with a vocal that is the spit of Debbie Harry singing the Smiths.
