4.0 out of 5 stars a good offering from now, 29 April 2009
Ok, this isn't amazingly innovative anymore, but this is a album blending funk, hip-hop and dub influences with tight production typical of NOW and it's been on repeat since i got it.

Although it's easily the most consistent of their releases since carboot soul (buy this first if you don't have it), the album nevertheless has its highlights: 'Calling', with it's swelling strings (unmistakably nighmares on wax); and '195lbs', a track heavily dub influenced and with an awesome vocal.

But rather than paying ANY attention to reviewers here look up album reviews on 'all music guide' and read reviews by critics who actually have some idea what they are talking about ...

Possibly the best offering from NOW so far. Da Feelin is the most incredible funky track they've ever done followed by the amazing reggae tune 195lbs. The whole album is quality and anyone who is fortunate enough to purchase it surely cannot be disappointed! Enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ain't smokin', 14 Jan 2009

Hmmm. A poor effort, I thought. I am huge N.O.W fan, have all their albums and bought Smoker's Delight when it came out. This was a real disappointment, found it patchy at best, and think it's possibly not even as good as 'Carboot Soul', which I always thought was a bit weak. After their last album - Inna Space.. - which is brilliant (buy it if you don't have it) - this is something of a let down. Only guessing but I think Mr Evelyn dividing his attention between Nightmares on Wax and the 'Wax on records' label may be a mistake (mind you, check the Wax on... compilation, with some awesome tunes from the likes of The Guts).

I was a massive fan of n.o.w. but this album is a serious let down. It has none of the thought that went into smokers delight (a worthier album name has never been given) and... Read more
