4.0 out of 5 stars A bit low impact but the kids seem to enjoy it!, 7 Dec 2008
Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
My son asked for this for his 6th birthday after seeing it being advertised heavily on sky kids channels. I had some misgivings as it looked a bit icky but I have to say it seems to go down well with kids of many ages, he likes it and his big sisters (7 and 10) and friends enoyed it too. Younger children need a bit of supervision but it actually doesn't make much mess at all and is easy to clean up. It makes slighly strange little gel creatures which shrivel up if they're left out in the air but since the joy seems to be in the making rather than doing anything with the products, that's no big deal. Not exactly a "must have" but if like me you're nagged by a minature victim of tv advertising, it's worth considering. Overall probably more 3.5 stars than 4 but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

4.0 out of 5 stars MARTIAN MATTER, 6 Jun 2009

I am 10 using my parents account. I got this toy for Christmas. I have made about 7 aliens. I enjoy giving them to my friends and dissecting them!
The only thing I would complain about is the dough gets a bit dry and sticky after making 2 or 3 aliens. I make other things by getting the plastic moulds out of the advent calenders and pushing them into the dough as well. Overall a good product! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Martian Matter Spaceship, 2 Feb 2009

My six year old son wanted this for Christmas. It is a plastic alien space ship with lots of molds to make alien figures. It is quite simple to operate, you put some play dough into the mould, add the alien goo and some playdough on top. Let is sit for a few minutes and then take out your Martian. You can then either sit them in the space ship or start to dissect them. The goo on the inside remains goo and therefore adds to the experience when you dissect. Great fun had by all. Ages 6-9 I would say and maybe one for boys rather than girls.
