Product Description

Happy Mondays were, along with the Stone Roses, the defining band of the Madchester scene in the late eighties and early nineties. Their music combined rock and house elements in a unique fusion which, coupled with Shaun Ryder’s biting lyrics, became the soundtrack of the era. This DVD captures the band on their first American tour in 1990 in support of their bestselling album “Pills ‘n’ Thrills And Bellyaches”. It combines brilliant full performance footage from The Sound Factory in New York with behind the scenes material to give a really intimate portrait of the band at their peak. There are also cameo appearances from Keith Allen and the late Tony Wilson, founder of Factory Records.

Synopsis

'Madchester' legends Happy Mondays are captured here on their first American tour in 1990, performing live at The Sound Factory in New York. Tracklist includes 'Step On', 'Kinky Afro', 'Do It Better', 'Hallelujah', 'Wrote For Luck' and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call the cops if you don't buy this!, 1 Oct 2009
By Ross1927 "R K Welch" (Cardiff, Wales) - See all my reviews

I once bought the Barcelona dvd and what a load of crap, its as if Ryder was couldn't be arsed doing the show and got drunk.

GET THIS INSTEAD!

The Mondays in their glory days when they had a lot of energy(while on drugs proberly?)

Best tracks Step on, Kinky Afro, Rave on, Do it better, Gods cop and Hallelujah.

Includes interviews inbetween with the group, their American fans and a little bit of a radio interview with the Late Tony Wilson.

Recommeded for fans of group/Madchester scene.
