In October 2007, the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles celebrated its 20th anniversary, together with the best French musicians around. To complete this anniversary, they now present the release of a 20 CD box with numerous musical highlights, both of the anniversary concerts as well as releases from the previous 20 years. Thanks to this jubilee box you can now witness this landmark of French Baroque music. The line-up is more than impressive: William Christie, Véronique Gens, Les Arts Florissants, Marc Minkowski, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Collegium Vocale de Gand, Christophe Coin, Christophe Rousset, Les Talens Lyriques, Ricercar Consort, Paul Agnew, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt, La Capella dei Turchini, Stéphanie d Oustrac, Roberta Invernizzi, Jérémie Rhorer, Olivier Schneebeli, Louis Castelain, Antonio Florio, Hervé Niquet, Le Concert Spirituel, Jean-Claude Malgoire, La Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy, Philippe Pierlot, Frédérick Haas, Joël Suhubiette, Patrick Cohen-Akenine, Les Folies Françoises, Jérôme Correas, Sébastien d Hérin, Maîtrise de Versailles, Ensemble Jacques Moderne, Andreas Staier, Patricia Petitbon, Isabelle Poulenard, L Ensemble Baroque de Limoges and many others. Of course, the inspiration for all of this comes from the amazing composers who posthumously express their approval with this project: Rameau, Lully, Couperin, Charpentier, Gluck and Boccherini are just some of many composers whose work you can hear on these recordings. The box contains 20 CDs and a CD-ROM with extensive sleeve notes in French and English.
