These chargers will not allow you to use the satnav while charging. They charge the unit perfectly and the mains one is a good idea, but who wants to charge the unit in the car and not use it? My original manufacturers lead charged while operating, but a genuine replacement cost a lot more than this. Overall a good buy if you only want to charge the batteries but do not think it is a replacement for an original lead.

The product itself just does what it says - it's a charger for your Garmin ;)

Normally you wuldnt need it, because you can charge your device through the USB cable from your PC;
However if you want to travel somewhere leaving your car and computer at home but still would like to have the convenience of a "local map of a foreign town at your fingertip" - then the mains charger comes extremely handy.

I purchased this item and my sat nav does not work with it subsequently I had to purchase a Garmin in car charger as that is the only one the sat nav would work with.
