Sharleen Spiteri's magnificent voice breaks loose to send shivers down your spine in this Sixties-style bitter-sweet love song. It has echoes of the Supremes and Martha Reeves, but asserts its own identity, installing itself in your mental jukebox because it's so unforgetable.

Said it all in the title, I suppose. Listen to this overcooked piece of 60s retro pop melodrama, then play 'Out In The Streets' by The Shangri-Las. The opening melodic line is identical. The Shangri-Las were a lot sassier than this limp drivel, though. The problem is, coming after the likes of Duffy, Winehouse, Adele, et al, Sharleen is sounding like a late gatecrasher to the retro Diva party. Dreary is not in it, a tired, uninspired and routine run through 60's production values. No doubt it'll sell, but like Madonna, Sharleen Spiteri is now very much a leader turned follower. No more of this, please.
