lacking in energy., 11 May 2008
i bought this with high hopes, liquid lives drew me to them, leap of faith made me crave more, their usb mixtape was a hit n miss affair so the expectation for the album was high.
its not bad, its just not great, i like the lyrics a lot but the tunes just sound the same and gets dull quick, its the kinda album that makes great background music at parties but not one to listen to in your own time.
i guess its lacking the energy that the band seem to have whenever you see live footage of them, the sweatiness from the dancefloor hasnt made its way to the album.

Outdoes the hyped up expectations, 26 April 2008
I am a member of Aeriels and so I have aquired this album early. There has been a lot oh hype surrounding this album, and I myself attatched a massive level of expectency it. I was worried though that Hadouken! would not manage to step up, and boy was I wrong.
Hadouken! have been pigeon holed by the media as a 'nu-rave' fad - and H! have proven everybody wrong with the brilliant diversity within Music For An Accelerated Culture. We hear the 'old skool' grimey, ravey and energetic Hadouken! that will please the fans that have been there from the begining with tunes like Crank It Up and Game Over. Then to tip the scales completely there are slower, calmer and more intimate songs such as Driving Nowhere and Wait For You. The band also show that they can make damn good pop music, in Declaration Of War. The diversity within this album is stunning and refreshing.
Out of the 11 songs showcased by Hadouken!, 10 of them would be given a perfect 5 stars from myself, there are some songs that instantly make themselves your favourite ever songs. Then when you think it can't get any better, the songs that seemed to have at first been rather unnoticable slowly grow and grow on you, and these somehow excel those you find stunning.
If you can listen to this with an open mind, you will be blown away. If not, then you will seriously miss out on what I see as a new direction for music.

Amazing, 25 April 2008
I've got a copy of the album via my Aerials membership. I actually only wanted the single Declaration of War, and joined Aerials to get it as fast as possible. And now I'm amazed at how good the album actually is. So far my favorites - besides Declaration - are Driving Nowhere, Crank It Up and Wait For You.
