4.0 out of 5 stars Come on People!, 29 Jan 2009
Four? What more of story is there to tell? What developments could be so important or interesting? Why should anyone care about yet another installment of a film series that some might argue should never have happened in the first place?

There are three answers to that: Pretty Woman, Boobies, and Giger.

If one thinks about it the Species series is a masterstroke of cinematic genius. Give the audience some beautiful women to look at - give their core function as having sex (and thereby getting naked) - and wrap it all up in a monster design from the creator of Alien. Wow! Wish I'd thought of that!

And Species IV is pretty dumb, but nowhere near as bad as it should have been. This one tells the tale of Miranda, and incredibly attractive lecturer at college who gets sick and kills a few people. Turns out she's an alien/human hybrid - and at the ripe old age of, I'm guessing, 21, she's simply passed it.

Not to worry, we can rebuild her. But then she'll come back new, and horny, and ALL HER CLOTHES WILL FALL OFF. And things blow up. The End.

Loved it. Stupid, silly, and trite - I could look at Helena Mattsson (Miranda) all day long.

Oh, and the monsters aren't too bad either.

And without a doubt, I'll watch number 5 if they make it. There's always time for topless beauties who occasionally don a monster outfit in my house.

The only drawback was the accent, a bit annoying. She can't say "Oxford" with making it sound like "Oxfuurd". Yuck. Oh well, I wasn't watching for the dialog.

Recommended to hot-blooded teens. And dirty old men.

2.0 out of 5 stars A sequel too many, 28 Aug 2009
By J. Lumsden (Pembroke) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm sorry but the characters in this sequel just don't have the screen presence or the appeal
of those in the first two entries in the series.I got bored and don't even remember the storyline!
