So after 32 years (??!!) Us Brits finally get the uncut version that the Yanks have had since day one !! Whilst I won't get into my hatred of censorship, I will say this is simply ridiculous that it has only recently been deemed suitable for our fragile minds to view ! It was yesterday (31/12/2015) that me and the missus sat down to watch the full uncut version on blu ray at last. A few scenes actually make more sense now that the film can flow more freely. The print looks absolutely amazing and is one of the best looking movies on blu ray in terms of an older film. Sound too is great. Actually felt like the first time for watching the film ! Also enjoyed it more than I had before. Well worth buying and replacing your old dvd version for !

1933 finds Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is in China attempting to get paid for his latest find. When his employer double crosses him, Indy barely escapes with his life, dragging singer Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and young Short Round (Jonathan Ke Quan) along with him.

Well, Indy almost escapes. Yet another attempt at double crossing him leaves the trio stranded in India. There, they find a remote village that is willing to lead them back to civilization, but only after Indy has returned their sacred stone and their children from a nearby temple.

This mission turns out to have plenty of danger. Can Indy accomplish his mission and keep his companions safe from a very evil villain?

I had heard rumors about this movie, but just now finally got a chance to watch it. Many people complain about some scenes in the middle that are pretty disturbing. In an attempt to make this movie darker then the original, the filmmakers upped the squirm factor. Frankly, I felt those scenes were out of place and over the top, especially in a PG film.

Having said that, those scenes are surrounded by plenty to like. The action is phenomenal. Not necessarily believable, but phenomenal. I loved watching those scenes and will definitely revisit them in the future. And there were some great comedic moments as well. The acting was top notch when it might have gone over the top, which keeps things entertaining for the viewer.

This has a well deserved reputation for being dark and disturbing. As a result, you might want to view with caution. But if you can ignore those scenes, there's still an entertaining film here.

i know a lot of peaple dont think so.but this was allways my favourite indiana jones film growing up.i think it still is.it got critisised for being too gruesome in parts.but today its hardly nothing.the carry on films were regarded as discusting in there time but they are on daytime tv now.i respect the filmakers for taking this one in a different direction.kids watch the saw films nowadays.which i dont agree with by the way.but if you buy this dvd the most gruesome bits are cut anyway.it is one of the best action adventure movies ever made

Harrison Ford (Star Wars) reprises his role as the sophisticated archaeologist Indiana Jones in Steven Spielberg's action adventure.

Indiana Jones is ordered to go and collect a sacred stone from a mysterious temple and is accompanied by Willie Scott (Capshaw) and Short Round (Ke Quan).

Filled with brilliant action sequences, sharp characters and exciting settings the second film of the Indiana Jones series is a brilliant action adventure, justifying the genre beautifully.

Ford portrays the hero brilliantly with a sharp and intelligent wit, his nerve under pressure and more so for his lines. Indiana Jones is one of my favourite characters of all time because of these qualities.

Jones is juxtaposed with singer Willie Scott, a spoilt and supposedly sophisticated professional who learns the life of an adventure in very intriguing circumstances. Having this character allows viewers to see the difference between the high life and the poor life, which is also a very touching point to the film.

Willie comes from a very classy background and when arriving in the dilapidated town, its shocking to see how she react and is very touching and audiences will sympathize with the residents of the town. Her character is very funny though, watch out for the elephant scenes.

One of the greatest child roles I've ever seen, Ke Quan gives a funny and classy role as Short Round. His catchphrases and attitude towards situations are great and extremely enjoyable.

The main reason this film is so brilliant is because of the situations Indy and his companions find themselves in, including planes, rope bridges, boat rides and other death defying situations. Its an astonishing mixture of action, adventure and a thrilling ride.

The settings also make the film stunning, none more so than one of the final scenes which makes it one of the best action adventures of all time.

Indiana Jones takes on an evil god-worshipping cult who are enslaving children in their determination to find some long-lost sacred jewels. It has to be said that this is a rollercoaster ride, has all the action and suspence Indiana Jones films are famous for. There are some genuinely memorable and quite terrifying moments, and everything looks very authentic. That said, the storyline is nowhere near as interesting as Raiders or Last Crusade, and the female love interest in this film comes across as stuck-up and irritating. Still, this is a great film anyway.
