if you plan on buying the series, you don't need to buy this as episode 1 is the pilot, as for the series 8 episodes long, review on it after Im done with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping television, 11 April 2008
By J "chasingshadows" (Liverpool, UK) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This pilot gives me great hope that this is one show that will provide for those viewers who see fit to invest their time in it, even if it does turn out to be short-lived. Everything about this show is subtly compelling, from the lead actress, to the larger cast, from the intriguing premise to the stylish filming. The performances are genuine and the dialogue manages to be just clever enough to please ardent fans of the genre, but in a way that will still entice newcomers to the impressive blend of realism and sci-fi that's on display here.

A few reviewers have praised Katee Sackhoff (of `Battlestar Galactica' fame) while in the same breath ridiculing Michelle Ryan, well all I can say is that those people clearly don't know what they're talking about, because Ryan is a very sympathetic heroine and the combination of the two is a match made in televisual-nemesis-heaven, the perfect ying and yang of good and evil that I long to see developed in future stories. The producers were obviously taking notes on Battlestar Galactica too, because not only are there some familiar faces from that series on display here, but the camera-work is similarly jostle-y and the colours likewise muted.

All of these elements amount to a product that works, there's no doubt about it and having now become involved in the life of Jaime Sommers, I'd be very disappointed if the show was cancelled, as the rumour-mill has recently been predicting. Season One is on pre-order folks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gripping? I don 't think so!, 14 Jun 2008
By technojunkie (Lutterworth, England) - See all my reviews
This is a disappointing 'drama' with a disappointing budget.
Heroes was a massive success and this was made to cash in on the phenomenon of heroes! it features mediocre acting talent from a bunch of b-listers and is so heavy on dialogue that it makes you think this is an action film, will these people just make something blow up already!

It doesnt matter how good an accent is, if the dialogue is cheesy and slow it does not matter what you sound like!

This show was CANCELLED! why would you spend 3 pounds on this tripe when you can see a 'proper' action film for 2 pounds more at the cinema.

Seriously don't waste your money just to 'see whats its like', believe me it is not worth your time!
