Product Description
Like his reptile namesake, intergalactic hero Cobra is not someone to be take lightly. With his psycho gun, a mental energy launcher installed in his left arm, Cobra stands in the way of the galaxy pirates total domination of the universe, his ultimate goal to once again bring peace to the galaxy.

Synopsis
Cobra and his partner, Jane Flower, find themselves on the wrong end of a witch hunt by the Mafia Guild. To make matters worse, the dread Crystal Boy has been sent to sniff them out. Based on the manga by Buichi Terasawa.

After owning the VHS version of this film for many years, I decided to upgrade to DVD...well, what a disappointment! The brilliant yello soundtrack has been replaced by run-of-the-mill anime instrumental twiddlings, major characters have been re-dubbed with inferior acting, and the dialogue has significantly changed, making even less sense than the original (I know, hard to believe that's possible)! I actually turned it off after 20 minutes, unable to cope any more with the huge sense of disappointment. Thank god I haven't got rid of the VHS version yet! It's probably okay if you've never seen the original version, but not a patch on it for those of us that have seen it.

Why oh Why did they change the film!!!!
I could have cried when i watched it!! I Adored the origional,
now i have to get a working vhs copy. The new version
of this film on dvd is really confusing and for those who watched
the origional and loved it and have waited for it to come out on
dvd for ages!!! YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED!!!!
The characters have been changed by adding new voices and dialogue
and they even changed the music!!!!

This along with Megazone 23 have always been my favourite Anime movie, the sound tracks and voice acting made both movies. I don't yet own this but after reading one of the other reviews saying it has been re-dubbed with a new sound track and cast I'm not sure I want to either.

I don't see what the obsession with re-dubbing movies is. They did the same with so many of the other decent movies like Laputa, My neibour Totoro, which in my opinion had been cast so well before they decided to use Hollywood actors.
