Product Description

CD Description

Royworld's debut LP, 'Man In The Machine', is a bracing dose of British indie rock, taking its cues from artists such as Talking Heads, Roxy Music and the occasional Queen-esque flamboyance. After forming in East London and gigging solidly, the band were able to record with Andy Greene (who also produced records by KT Tunstall and Keane, among others) and the released the single 'Dust', which charted at no.29 in theUK.

4.0 out of 5 stars I cant remember the last time I was this impressed with a debut album, 15 Jun 2008
By Mr. A. P. Kennedy (Lincoln, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I heard Dust on one of those music channels on TV and was hugely impressed. So much so I took a gamble on buying Royworlds debut cd - and I'm glad I did.
This band are old school. Old school in that there isn't just one decent song on an album. Where there's a collection of songs built with strong hooks and quality ideas. Songs that you want to keep hearing and upon repeat listenings you hear new things.
This album has clearly been put together with some care & thought. The only weak track for me is Elasticity, but that's only personal taste. That track is soon overshadowed by current single Dust and the fantastic Brakes. But the highlight for me is Astronaut.
I can hear the influence of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush in these guys music and that's no bad thing.

These days bands have to sink or swim on their debuts and with Royworld I sincerley hope this is the start of a long career as they've certainly hit the ground running with Man in the Machine and I'm very much looking forward to hearing where they go from here

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant album, but what are they like live?, 6 Jun 2008
By A. C. Patrick (Newcastle Upon Tyne) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
My partner and I have been hooked on Royworld since hearing the track `Man in the Machine' in April 08. Since then we've seen them live at Leeds and Newcastle and they were absolutely brilliant!

We had the privilege of meeting these guys (Rod, Rob & Tim) following their gig at Leeds, `Cockpit' and we can only describe them as humble, down to earth gentlemen. Keep your feet on the ground lads and enjoy further success!

If you like Man in the Machine, Dust and Elasticity, than you'll love this album! And if you get the chance to see them live - make the effort - you wont be dissappointed! Check out their `my space' for a further taste of Royworld!

5.0 out of 5 stars Royworld - breath of fresh air, 12 May 2008
By D. Goldman (USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Royworld are like a breath of fresh air for the UK music scene! First time I heard them was on Radio 1 with man in the machine, I think Jo Whiley played this and have been hooked ever since. Dust is their latest single and on the strength of those two songs (plus Brakes, which is on their myspace) I've pre-ordered the album! Not long until it arrives in the letter box!
