With the release of new single `Floods' Fightstar seem to have diverged in terms of their style somewhat, as this is probably the least `rock' song they've written to date. The piano driven chorus borrows heavily from the Muse book of song composition.
`Floods' is definitely a step forward for the band in taking their music to the next level, but you can't help but feel they wear their influences on their sleeve a bit too much to ever be considered a great band in their own right. Still, it's a promising sign of a band looking to get away from that dreaded `emo tag'.
