Continuing from Naruto series 3 part 1, this DVD set contains another 13 episodes of this amazing anime; 66-78. The first disc kicks off with the much anticipated fight between Sasuke and Gaara...but things are not as they seem. This part of the Naruto series sees the end of the chunin exam arc and begins the invasion of Konoha story arc.

For the first 2 discs the focus is shifted away from Naruto and it focuses more on some of the other characters instead. Which is nice for a change. It's also good to see Sasuke again since he was absent for about 20 episodes. Sasuke still remains the same brooding character with his ambitions burning strong within him, however he has learned some new awesome new moves. The third hokage also plays a big part in this set as you truly see what a hokages power can do.
Gaara however is the main focus of this set as the true extent of his powers are revealed, and a fair bit of time is devoted to showing different sides of his personality and revealing a lot of his backstory, history and why he has become the person he is. I must admit some scenes are actually quite sad. It's strange, but it's quite hard not to feel sympathy for him at certain points. I only watched the english dub for this DVD, and I think it is amazing. The voice actor for Gaara has done a terrific job in this volume. Up until now, Gaara has maintained his calm yet very cold voice, however in this set, he goes through a range of emotions, which were perfectly captured by the voice actor.
Naruto series 3 part 2 brings back the familiar theme of friendship, which leaves a lasting impression. One of the fascinations of this series is the characters. Each character is unique and likeable in their own way and it's actually quite difficult not to get attached to the characters.
Alongside the nice characterisation, series 3 part 2 is also one of the most action packed Naruto releases yet. At one point there is about four different fights going on at once so it keeps flicking back and forth between them, giving the viewer an intense rollercoaster ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The animation continues to look superb, and the big fight scenes in the last episode of this set look absolutely gorgeous.
Once again, the only special features are just some old trailers. For a franchise as big as Naruto, you would have thought they'd put some features on the discs...but oh well.
On the last episode is a new opening and ending theme songs. Both are really catchy; especially the opening song.

If you've been following all the Naruto releases, you should seriously pick this one up, the action is simply top notch. People who have never seen Naruto before should get the first series boxset (it's under �20 now) just so you can get a bit of insight into what this brilliant series is like.
After watching this I absolutely can't wait to see series 4 part 1. This set has ended in the the perfect place to leave the viewer wanting more. I think series 4 will be amazing; I've read the manga, and the story just keeps getting better.

This second volume of the third season of Naruto contains another thirteen episodes of the sometimes annoying but always enjoyable anime. The episodes in this volume see the Chunin exam interrupted by an attack on the Hidden Leaf Village by the forces of the Sand and Sound Villages. The confusion that follows sees some of the best action from the series so far and also includes some interesting information on the background of both Gaara and deadly Orochimaru. This volume also sees many of the characters pushed to their limit, making for some great battles.

The episodes here still suffer from many of the same problems that have plagued Naruto from the beginning, such as an annoying English dub, a tendency to repeat itself and taking an age to get anywhere. This is countered by great action, some genuinely interesting exposition and a good plot, even if it does unravel painfully slowly. The episodes presented here are less annoying than many previous episodes and I am greatly looking forward to watching more of this frustrating but lovable show.
