Brilliant series, at a bargain price. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. The scripts never age, even if the clothes are stuck in that 1980's time warp! I really cannot fault the series, the comic timing is excellent and the acting is sublime, I still laugh out loud every time I watch it - it would just be nice to have even more laughs with the rest of the series'. Come on BBC and release the rest of this fantastic series - or at least give us a complete re-run on the TV - PLEASE!?

I love this series, as do countless other people. Unfortunately, the rights to the series are owned by Fremantle Media who have decided that because the first season which came out on DVD didn't sell a great deal (hardly surprising since it wasn't advertised or marketed)they won't release it as a DVD box set to include all the Christmas specials. It may also have something to do with Fremantle having to pay royalties to the artists whose music appeared in the series. It is obviously too much trouble to edit the music out.

Birds of a Feather is one of the GREATEST sitcoms ever made - yet whilst all the other great sitcoms have had a DVD box set (Keeping Up Appearances, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Allo Allo, Will & Grace to name but a few)Birds of a Feather continues to be kept under lock and key. Travesty.

Brilliant Series 1 features the sisters sharron and Tracy living their lives normally until both their husbands get arrested - sharron lving in near poverty in a far from nice flat with her far from nice husband chris and tracy living in luxury with her treasured husband daryl and this 1st initial series shows sharron moving in with tracey and how they get on living together and coping with their husbands absence. A great series and so funny, but not as good as some of the others, i really hope they eventually release all the series's in a boxset, it is eagerly awaited by many!
Highly recommended comedy classic, if you've never seen it, buy it, it's a gem!
