Description
The brainchild of former Karate and Secret Stars guitarist Geoff Farina, Glorytellers offers a tour de force of virtuoso, acoustic indie-pop on their self-titled debut. The Boston-based trio's strange recipe--particularly stunning on the standout track "Awake At the Wheel"--finds them melding lo-fiaesthetics at times reminiscent of Sebadoh with the sunny disposition of Jack Johnson. Farina's acoustic fretwork, however, is undeniable, and lends the sometimes primitivist nature of the album the muscle of very accomplished musicianship.
