These pieces deserve to be heard more often, even if the neglect of a few of them is understandable. The King Christian suite is consistently excellent, and from the Historic Scenes I'd pick out the Love Song - unusual for a piece so entitled, and very touching - as well as Festivo and the Scena. But even the few moderate tracks are enjoyable for the truly beautiful recording quality and splendid playing and conducting. If you like Sibelius you will surely not regret spending your fiver.
