Product Description

Romantic comedy based on the short story by Steve Glenn. When Charlie Logan was ten years old he broke the rules in a game of spin-the-bottle, refusing to lip-lock with a demented Goth girl who consequently put a hex on him. Now, 25 years later, Charlie (Dane Cook) is a successful dentist, and still cursed. While his plastic surgeon best friend, Stu (Dan Fogler), pursues as many of his patients as possible, Charlie can't seem to find the right girl. Even worse, he discovers at an ex-girlfriend's wedding that every woman he's ever slept with has found love - with the next guy after him. Before he knows it, Charlie's reputation as a 'good luck charm' has women lining up for a quickie. But a life filled with all sex and no love makes Charlie lonelier than ever - that is, until he meets Cam (Jessica Alba). An accident-prone penguin specialist, Cam is as hard-to-get as she is beautiful. But when a genuine romance develops, Charlie must find a way to break his curse before the girl of his dreams winds up with the next guy she meets.

"Good Luck Chuck" is one of those movies where you don't really know whether to admit that laughed your way to stomach cramps through the entire film or that the movie was a bit over the top.

"Good Luck Chuck" is about Chuck/Charlie, who is a dentist (why doesn't my dentist look like that?) and quite the good luck charm. After a woman's been with Charlie, the next man she dates will be a keeper. And of course the hexed Charlie falls in love. Okay, so far it sounds like a chick flick that will make every guy yawn, but first of all Jessica Alba plays the love interest/penguin-obsessed catastrophe waiting to happen and the comedy.... "Good Luck Chuck" is full of one-liners, physical comedy, slap stick, and at times so bad humour that you will jump out of your seat doing the secret you-got-it-dance.

Blu-ray video quality: Unimpressive overall and quite poor in some parts. Can't imagine this is any improvement over the DVD.

Blu-ray audio quality: 7.1 uncompressed and 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround EX English audio tracks available. Nothing to complain about with the audio, yet it does not seem that the surround channels were used to any great effect. This film does have a good music soundtrack though, particularly the song You Might Think by The Cars.

Brief film review: A comedy to watch once only. Quite amusing in parts, but often contrived and formulaic, and sometimes toe-curlingly cringeworthy.

I won't bother going into the storyline as it's not exactly full of depth - just read the main description.

What this is though is just a good, fun, Saturday night comedy. To be honest I rented it first time around and I thought it was going to be rubbish, but wanted to give it a go. It actually surprised me and is very, very funny and the storyline is very different to anything else.

It's probably pushing the boundaries of a woman's romantic comedy as it's definitely not a typical chick flic'. It's more of a rom com that you could actually get away with watching with your mates if you're a bloke - women will have to make their own judgements!

Don't expect to be astounded, but it would be in my top ten comedies I think.

This is one of the best american comedys in years, very very funny indeed, great cast including the HOT jessica alba, Apart from the great gags and LOTS of BOOBS the film actualy has a pretty simple but good story, even though it maybe a little predictable.. certainly one of the top best comedys in a long time!!!
