I have fond memories of watching Pingu about 10 years ago with my daughters. They loved the antics of this cheeky bird and his mate, the seal. For us sophisticated parents, Pingu was the subversive alternative to the sanitised nauseating purity of Spot and other such sickingly innocent drivel. Here was a character who wee'd, sat on the toilet (!) and got angry/swore or whatever other expression was possible with his choice phrase. A decade later and he has not aged - indeed his antics seem even more humorous... The Fishing episode is wonderful (pure slapstick), the episode with the Grandfather and accordian poignant and the one when we runs away will have you in tears. We watched it this week and everyone was laughing - how many shows have such cross-generational appeal? The later episodes aren't as good but this box-set is value just for the classic Pingu Forever. Buy it now! Nug nug!

My 2 year old has become completely addicted preferring Pingu to Postman, Little Red Tractor or Fireman Sam. The three discs contain lots of short stories offering plenty of variety and trust me you will need them all. DVD picture quality is good as one would expect
