5.0 out of 5 stars One word.....awesome, 18 Nov 2007
By B. Gristwood "Travelling Man" (Liverpool, UK) - See all my reviews

I love the motown sound and Boys ii men have for years had some of the best vocal harmonies in the world. I listened to this and instantly had to have it.

There are one or 2 weaker tracks(if there is such a thing on here) where they guys go back to their very slow ballads, but this could only be to the superb-ity of the rest of the tracks. It also proves that the guys can do fast up-tempo numbers like "war" and "the same old song".

Winners, "Tracks of my tears", "Easy" and if you are going to buy this album for one reason, the accapella version of end of the road.

This is one of the most finely crafted album of motown soul i have heard in a long time. BUY IT, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars They don't make 'em like this anymore!, 18 Nov 2007
By Mr. M. Y. Almodhahkah (Lancashire, England) - See all my reviews

Though Motown don't often recognise it, Boyz II Men are their most successfull act of all time, and the biggest selling r&b group of all time, ever! Though they are down to 3 members, this does not detract from the quality of music on this album. I know its fashionable to do covers, and also to say they aren't as good as the original, well these are! Not many can touch Boyz II Men vocally, and they kill every track on here. My personal favourites would have to be 'same old song/i'll be there'; 'i was made to love her' and 'war'. You won't find a better r&b album out there, so buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Timeless Gem, 9 Dec 2007
By Terry Paul "TP" (London, England) - See all my reviews
Motown is the biggest and most successful international production house ever . The volume of hits and the caliber of artistes that have come through the Motown stable are astounding and will never be repeated. Boys II Men are among the finest ever to come out of Motown and listening to this album, you would never understand why a group of this stature went through a stage where they didn't want to do it anymore and went through a split. Thank God, these guys are back! I have heard many people cover Motown classics, some to their own detriment. I have not heard anyone deliver these classics in such style. Every track on this album is an instant winner! Boys II Men demonstrates once again that they are all extremely gifted singers and that together, they are simply untouchable. Each classic is given the Boys II Men treatment in often quite stunning fashion. The lead vocals are distinctively clear, rich, classy and really quite mesmerizing. The background vocals are just out of this world! If you try to sing along to this, you simply don't know where to go because they just take it out of this stratosphere. Some people criticise Boys II Men for doing too many ballads, well when they sing the way they do, I will listen to them sing ballads all day. It really helps that they carefully chose songs from different Motown era's so everyone can identify with at least some of the songs on the set. Its really difficult to pick a personal favourite because in each song they do something even more intricate than the last but I love "Just My Imagination", "All This Love", "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing" and "Got To Be There". This album is the benchmark for a lot of these new so-called R&B, soul singers and shows that you can keep it clean and just sing from the heart. Another stunning piece of work that you must have in your collection.
