This groundbreaking concert film of Led Zeppelin's electrifying 1973 performance at New York's Madison Square Garden is a magical mystery tour through the band's live gig, as well as backstage footage. The Song Remains The Same also delves into band members' personal lives and even recreates their own private hallucinations via animated sequences. A must for fans of the group and those new to the wonder of Zeppelin.

1.0 out of 5 stars VHS quality Blu Ray disk..., 21 Jan 2009
By M. G. Beem "Film & Audio fan" (Utrecht, Netherlands) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Led Zeppelin is my all time favourite Rock band and this is not even close to being (a registration of) their best concert. However, this disk deserves it's 1 star or lower rating because the transfer is appalling. The picture competes with 'good VHS' standards and the audio does not come close to CD, let alone improve on it. What a sad way to make money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Visual and Audio Mediocrity, 13 Sep 2009
I was really looking forward to watching this movie on Blu-ray, but after doing so was filled with an overwhelming sense of mediocriy. Nothing about this Blu-ray adds anything to the remastered DVD, either visually or sonically. One could deduce this is down to a thoroughly indecent attempt at mastering for this medium.

They should withdraw this product, do it properly and re-issue it. Whoever is responsible for Blu-ray mastering production quality control at Warner Bros needs to be given a serious dressing down.

I know this is an old film, but it was digitally remastered at not inconsiderable expense in the recent past, so no excuses there. I have a Pioneer LX-91 Blu-ray player and high end Yamaha AV Receiver, so the equipment I'm using is not to blame.

If you want to see the full, glorious potential of Blu-ray as far as music video is concerned, I recommend, ZZ Top's, "Live from texas." It is the best I have seen; the TSRTS is easily the worst.

5.0 out of 5 stars the song is still tops, 31 May 2009
By M. H. J. Brown "freeek666" (wycombe,uk) - See all my reviews

The song remains the same sums it up in the title
watching jimmy page's awsum giutar work on dazed & confused is still the
best, and if you have your surroud sound set up correctly the sound on
blu-ray travels round the room making your head spin. AWSUM.
The documenty parts are good insights as to how layed back managment
was then, arguement about a guy selling bootleg posters in the stadium
& a fan jumping the barrier and being chased round the stadium, grabbed,
and just thrown out of the fire exit just don't happen today
