First off there are different reviews on here saying Die Hard with a Vengeance is still cut on UK Blu-ray - it is not. I've had the uncut Region 1 DVD for years and now having compared it to the UK Blu-ray I can confirm it is uncut: there's more profanity put back in, more blood in the elevator shoot-out and knife scene. If there were any cuts remaining I sure couldn't spot them. Great film, great transfer, great sound.
NB: I watched the film as part of the Die Hard Legacy Boxset - I can't account for the stand alone release but logic dictates they would match.

McClane is now suspended from the NYPD, but when a bomb goes off in the Bonwit Teller Department Store the police go insane trying to figure out what's going on.

Soon, a man named Simon calls and asks for McClane. Simon tells the Inspector that McClane is going to play a game called "Simon Says".

He says that McClane is going to do the tasks he assigns him. If not, he'll blow off another bomb. With the help of a Harlem electrician, McClane must race all over New York trying to figure out the frustrating puzzles that the terrorist gives him.

But when a bomb goes off in a subway station right by the Federal Reserve (the biggest gold storage in the world) things start to get heated up.....

It was great to see another Die Hard movie get released, although this took the lone man versus a great number of people (the essence of Die Hard) and gave it a spin, with brilliant results.

If this was just another action movie with some other action star, it would have been average, but include McClane, and the wit his character has, you get something special.

Jackson makes a welcome addition to the franchise, and the pair have great, sweaty chemistry together. The race theme, could have been toned down a little, especially without the inclusion of why Zeus brother was killed, but it does make the pairing a little more intense.

With a neat little, twist referring the first movie, and Irons best panto villain, DHWAV is the franchises second best entry, thanks to tight directing by Mctiernan, exciting set pieces, and a brilliant pairing with Willis and Jackson.

A brilliant sequel, and a brilliant action movie.

Purchased this blu ray film a while ago. As i wanted to complete the Die Hard Collection,
as this film has not been released in the U.K (Pity) ?? But it is available throughout
Europe. I rate the Die Hard with A Vengeance as equal to the first Die Hard for thrills
and spills, although i would say the pace and action of this film is much more entertainingly
frantic and hectic compared to the other films, McTiernan carefully orchestrates the
chase set pieces splendidly. Hardly time for a cup of coffee unless your going to hit the pause
button. This blu-ray holds together well and is a great improvement on the DVD, its a
must own for any Die Hard fan out there. Great clarity with hardly any grain, good
special features and plus an excellent sound mix, you can hear a pin drop and the scenes in
the streets are much more absorbing on blu ray capturing every detail possible in the neighborhood.
Surely i recommend to watch this on this format,if you have or have not seen this great action film.
You must watch it..."simon says".

By the time you come to the third movie in a series, it can often become predictable. Maybe that's one reason why I found Die Hard: With a Vengeance so refreshing. Gone is the Christmas setting and terrorists in one isolated location. But it's still a fun roller coaster ride.

The only character returning from the first two movies is John McClane (Bruce Willis). He's separate from his wife (in a plot point that doesn't quite seem to make sense) and suspended from the NYPD for his alcohol abuse.

All that changes when a bomber strikes the city and asks specifically for McClane. Calling himself Simon (Jeremy Irons), he leads McClane on a wild goose chase all around the city doing strange tasks to keep more bombs from blowing up. Along the way, McClane gets an unlikely partner in Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson), a shop keeper. Why is Simon focused on McClane? Will McClane be able to stop the bombs? And what is Simon really after?

It was really nice to see McClane actually working with law enforcement this time around. Even so, the movie still manages to keep McClane pretty much on his own. Yes, he has Zeus, but McClane is the one driving the story forward.

As with the others, there are some decent twists to the plot. Yes, the plot is just an excuse for the action, but it holds some surprises and is fairly logical. The finale is a bit far fetched, but this is an action movie, so I'll give it a pass.

And the action segments are wonderful as always. The movie literally starts with a bang and the tension doesn't stop until the end.

The acting is uniformly great. Bruce Willis certainly has his character down, and it shows. Samuel L.
