The way to buy this is the De Luxe Edition as you get a further 15 songs.
Eddie Izzard's Mr Kite is the odd one out here-its quite atrocious and doesn't need all the added on comedy

Brought this DVD because I had seen Jim Sturgess in 21 and wanted to see what else he had been in. Was suprised how well he could sing and also how good his Liverpool accent was, but have since found out he does a good job with all his accents for parts. Enjoyed the film a lot but I am a fan of musicals having been to see a number of westend musicals, my son who is not a fan enjoyed a number of the scenes Eddie Izzard and the recruitment scene. The songs were supposed to tell the story but one of my favourite scenes which was in the long grass and water and contained some beautiful harmony, did not bring the storyline on at all. Apart from the fact that the male characters hair grew, there was no other indication that this story was supposed to be taken over two years, which I found out through the directors commentary. Do not buy if you want a story that makes sense, but do if you enjoy songs sang with feeling.

I love the film, and love the soundtrack, I am also buying my second copy after my little ones got hold of one disc and sratched it, i would definately recommend the deluxe version too!

Loved the film - very well done so had to get the soundtrack. Soundtrack is superb and good value as there are 2 cds.

Having seen the film I had a regression to the seventies with lots of emotions. Singing the Beatles song is a responsability and a job that can spoil the whole thing. Read more
