As a longtime fan of Biffy, its been incredibly interesting and rewarding to see both their sound and their image evolve over the years. An acoustic-led song, Machines is a very refined sound unlike anything they've done before. Whilst one of my favourite songs by the band, Machines is definitely a depature in style and some may find this a bit hard to stomach if The Vertigo Bliss is your Ideal Height (groan).

'I've started falling apart - I'm not savouring life'

The most cringe inducing, pompous sounding boo hoo ever committed to tape.

The video of the band lying prostrate wearing nothing more than little white towels and their trademark beards is just crying out for a spoof - possibly they could all be pitching little tents downstairs? Or maybe a flock of parrots could enter stage left and peck out their eyes? The comedy potential is limitless.
