Synopsis
What happens when your first love is a distant memory but you haven't yet found "the one"?

Alice Chenery (Tamsin Greig), is an account manager for a perfume company in a London department store, struggling to maintain a flat in Brighton she cannot afford. Michael Landes, (The Wonder Years and The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air) plays Gil Raymond, a successful American comedy writer who has fled his home country in search of artistic integrity and a lasting relationship. The parallel lives of this perfectly matched couple -- who have yet to meet each other -- unfold revealing their hopes, fears and dating disasters as they try to remain sane in a world from which they each feel increasingly excluded.

This DVD contains every episode from the first series of Love Soup from hit writer David Renwick (Jonathan Creek, One Foot in the Grave), starring Tamsin Greig (Green Wing, Black Books).

This is superior quality TV. It combines finely crafted drama that has you really caring about the characters, with laugh-out-loud comedy situations that could only come from the pen of David Renwick (One Foot in the Grave, Jonathan Creek). I really can't recommend it highly enough.

The DVD also has special features:
- behind the camera feature
- out-takes
- interview with David Renwick
- commentary on episode 1 by writer and producer Verity Lambert

Apart from Curb your Enthusiasm this is probably the funniest laugh out loud tv production I have seen in a long while. I caught bits of it now and again and was sufficiently intrigued to buy the series. It has everything, romance, pathos, humorous situations, and two plot lines that never quite meet in the middle. How this wasn't a huge hit is a real puzzle to me, possibly the time just wasn't right.Alice in wonderland it certainly is. Everyone that has watched it on dvd couldn't resist just watching another episode. That's recommendation enough.

This is a remakable piece of television. It mixes two storylines of people perfect for each other who may be destined never to meet.

The writing is genius (even more obviously so on second viewing)and the acting from a superb cast is pitch perfect.

You want the two leads to get together to save each other so very much it's totally compelling.

Buy it now because you will want to see it several times...
