5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another fantastic release from Magdalen College Choir, 9 Sep 2007
This CD follows a series of CDs by Magdalen College Choir following works by early english composers. The direction of Bill Ives and the wonderful playing of the viol ensemble Fretwork lend this CD a reall class. The sound that Ives is able to get from the choir, especially the trebles, is very suited to the music, bringing not a polished 'choral' sound but rather a natural open sound that makes this CD special. The solo singing of tenor Rogers Covey-Crump is very good, and the singing of treble Stefan Roberts is truly spectacular, adding an amazingly rounded and conditioned voice that is the cherry on the cake for this wonderful CD.
