4.0 out of 5 stars Mountain -A New Peak, 7 Aug 2007
By M. R. Dangerfield (England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Having been a fan of Dylan most of my life, I am always curious about the endless stream of covers albums, let alone the odd song here and there, and the artist's motivation. The cynic might say that all roads lead to this place, because there is no finer writer in the field of contemporary music. I have heard covers that I have liked, ones I have been indifferent to, but always, no matter how preposterous, think Captain Kirk Mr Tambourine, the song is indestructible. For reasons That I have never really understood, I have always liked Mountain, and many of the tracks on this album work really well because they sound like Mountain and the song choices, with a couple of exceptions, are quite inspired. The title track, together with Subterranean Homesick Blues, Seven Days, and Heart of Mine are my picks, and the only dud is the drums only Like a Rolling Stone with a Corky Laing vocal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masters of War - Mountain, 24 Sep 2009
By Pj Statham "PJS" (Cardiff, Wales) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The great Leslie West tackles Dylan, worth the listen alone out of curiousity, but it is a rewarding task. Blowin in the Wind is simply fantastic, Ozzy is Ozzy and Corky is as cutting as ever, driving Leslie along to heights that many a budding guitarist can only envy. I love it!
