Product Description

Product Description

Jackie Chan's first starring role sees him play a young waiter who also happens to be a Kung Fu fanatic. Although his Father (Tien Fong-Fist of fury) has forbidden him from learning the martial arts, Jackie trains in secret and is a Young Master in his own right. Local storeowners seek the help of Jackie to protect them from a greedy Chinese extortion ring, and tempers reach the boiling point when Jackie discovers that the crime kingpin behind the extortion scheme killed his father years before.

To all Chan fans this is the full length version of master with cracked fingers, Hooray! But the print is so washed out its almost black & white, Booo! Maybe one day someone will remaster it for blu ray but until then this is as good as it gets! Also there is extra feature footage of Chan at the press screening of the film as it was lost for years in this version. This footage is quite annoying as the so-called fans shout at Jackie to perform despite his recent injuries & obvious discomfort to thier reaction.

I bought this film thinking that at last i could finally watch the unedited version of what has become known as master with cracked fingers. What i got was crap picture quality, subtitles onscreen cut off and poor dvd all round. The quality of the film is crap and i understand that films deteriorate with time but for what the people at rarescope charged for this originally I'd have expected some sort of attempt to clean this up. Hong Kong legends or cine Asia they're most definitely not. If you have master with cracked fingers then i suggest you stick with that. Even hardcore fans of Jackie Chan should steer clear of this rubbish as that's what it is. Please don't waste your money and hope and pray that a better version of this becomes available someday. 2 stars just for Jackie Chan but avoid like hell.

The film was not bad. However the very poor quality of the DVD made it extremely hard to watch the movie all the way through.
